We are a family of 6 and took a week vacation in Iceland. Reykjavik was where we had our apartment. Sushi Samba is a welcome relief from the famous hot dogs and many uninspired menus. Birna, our server, was great and helpful with the menu. We appreciated her very much. Only "negative" is it is about 15-20% overpriced, even by... More

We had to return to SushiSamba for our last night in Iceland. Great sashimi, great rolls and great service . Highly recommend, but if you're looking for budget sushi and you want to waste the servers time asking for seperate bills then go somewhere else. The best meals we had in 3 weeks in Iceland was this place, Rub23 in... More

It was well prepared but all bland. We spent $300.US on a table of two and we were both bored with the food.

There's a comprehensive menu with a wide range of local delicacies and a luxurious sushi selection on offer. It's hard to choose! I had a fabulous plate of surf 'n turf sushi on the recommendation of someone who'd been there before. Great atmosphere, friendly service. Lots to try - it's worth several visits.

We had a very nice dinner and truly enjoyed the sushi part of the menu. We also tried the lamb which was good, but not great and the sorbets were excellent. The service was OK but slow. The atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We would have liked some more assistance regarding sharing the sushi dishes, and it is perhaps not the... More

We ate both sushi and meat. Both were good and next time in Reykjavik I will visit them again. Might be good idea to reserve a table (specially during tourist season).

We came with friends for a meal before going to a theatre show. My friend wanted to go to this place, I was very skeptical, do not like sushi if I have a choice. He said that we could have a meat. So I said ok and we did order a steak plate. It came with special potatoes and an... More

Sushi Samba is a restaurant that combines seemingly diametrically opposed cuisines, in this case Japanese and South-American, in a most delightful manner. The interior is delightful and the service excellent (special thanks to Amy for last time, who provided delightful conversation), it is however also a very popular restaurant with Icelanders themselves, not a tourist trap then, but this also... Open at the end of 2011 and a hot favorite on the Reykjavik restaurant scene, Sushi Social - samba & grill offers a deliciously unique take on homegrown ingredients, fusing Iceland's freshest flavors with Japanese and South American influences. The menu offers a great selection, tempting smaller courses, traditional and "Juicy- Sushi" , amazing steaks and sweet desserts. If you can't decide what to go for, the Icelandic feast is a perfect solution - six courses form an incredible taste experience that includes the national aperitif 'Brennivin' and an Icelandic Skyr panna cotta for dessert. Fabulous chili mojitos and a gorgeously eclectic interior are the icing on the cake at Sushi Social. Hand- carved Brazilian curios and some 50 pretty Japanese birdcages complement the contemporary lines and gentle feel of the place.
