The food was interesting and well made. The prices are a bit shocking coming from North America. Icelandic beer was great.

The Icelandic rye bread is dark and somewhat sweet (molasses, maybe?). Café Loki invented a recipe to crush it and put it in ice cream -- it's absolutely delicious! We also had their meat (lamb) soup, which hit the spot! And if you sit upstairs,...More

We only stopped in this cafe for a cup of coffee and a little cake, which were both delicious. The girls at the table next to us ordered the famous 'rotten' shark and couldn't finish all of it so they offered us the rest. It...More

A great place to sample Icelandic food. Cafe Loki is opposite the Hallgrimskirkja giving a wonderful view of the cathedral. I looked for other cafes near the lake but I'm sure this cafe actually has the best view! The staff were friendly and helpful. My...More

Reykjavik is not the best city for parking. Most of it is street parking, and you'll need to buy a permit at the kiosk. If you're not impaired, walking is usually faster and less frustrating.

Description
Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic sample plates, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.
