Tried this hot dog and it taste like lamb with some crunchy dried onions on it. I personally don't like lamb but this hot dog is exceptional! You have to try it!!! Craving for it when I'm back home.

If you visit Reykjavik then you have to sample the hot dogs that Baejarins Beztu Pylsur have on offer. Situated down by the harbour in the old town, this insignificant hot dog stand can be easily overlooked as you walk around sightseeing. However, it's been in business for 80 years now and there is a board outside which brags about... More

Loved this hot dog - had it with everything and it was delicious. Went back to have another the next day. Cheap snack but be prepared to queue!

Get one with everything. It's yummy! There's a special sauce that comes with. Not sure what it is but it's good.

Although the hotdog stand is along the harbor on the way to Harpa, it can be hard to find with all the construction currently occuring (Feb '17). To me, it was a hotdog, nothing special to eat, but if the line isnt too long and you're hungry, then definitely stop by for a hotdog. There are hightop tables nearby with... More

This is a must try in Iceland as very different to normal hotdog. It would make a great lunch or snack as it is very very cheap for Reykjavík! Go for the full work.

The stand just near harpa concert hall. The hotdog is quite good, i like the idea of sprinkling fried onions on it :) Price wise, is quite cheap for Iceland's standard. Definitely will stopped by here again when im in Reykjavik.

When we went there was a really long queue but the hot dogs are good and it's easy to find. Why wouldn't you want one of the best hot dogs in Reykjavik?

Finding this place is like looking for Waldo. It was right in front of us the whole time. We must have driven by it a half dozen times during our stay and didn't realize it. When we finally found it, we had to struggle to find parking. It wasn't very crowded but there's a lot other buildings in the area... More

Description
Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe.

The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica.

A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
