This restaurant is right by the coast and good value for money. The staff were very friendly, spoke very good English and my fish meal was beautifully presented.

While in Iceland a few days we tried seafood and soups in other cities including Reykjavik, but I was really glad we found the Ràin restaurant before we left Iceland. The family atmosphere was good, the Irish Coffee was better, but the Halibut and Lobster Stew was absolutely amazing. We will be back to Iceland and we have already said... More

There are windows with a beautiful view of the water. Food and drink are both excellent but expensive (everywhere in Iceland.) However, if you are going to pay a lot everywhere, it's still nice to get quality for the money and this establishment does just that.

Visited here on the way from airport to Blue Lagoon. Decent food with nice service and great view. Nothing bad to say although this was neither exceptional.

I spent my last night in Keflavik and Rain seemed like the only "local" option of the establishments open. The restaurant was spacious and set up to handle large groups of dinners. The wait staff were friendly and helpful when it came to suggestions. It was a quiet night when I dinned and service was quick and food good. Like... More

Welcome to the Eighties! Keflavik is hardly a place one would go to for food so this large, centrally located restaurant is as good a bet as any. We had a pretty decent main course of fish for lunch before making our way back to the airport and while the dining room was deserted and looking like it had seen... More

I was very reluctant to go here as they only had meat options on the window display menu and quite possibly no children's menu either, yet after a very long day and for a birthday treat we decided to try our luck and I am so glad we did! The restaurant itself was dated, but in a wonderful way,. We... More

Visited this establishment for dinner on two separate occasions. The dining room seating area has an excellent unobstructed view of the bay, and weather permitting, Reykjavik and the mountains off in the distance. The menu offers Whale Steak, which I was told is a 'must do' when visiting Iceland for the first time. From what I've been told, whale steak... More

Think Phoenix Nights ( UK TV show)- the place had the feel of a smokey old cabaret club- which is great if that is what you are after. The food was good enough but the sauce tasted as though it was from a packet. Staff were friendly.

We came across Rain as we were lost finding another restaurant and what a treat! It was lunch on a weekday and we had the place to ourselves. In the basics, food and service it was over the top. The quality, tastiness, and portion sizes were terrific. On top of that was the terrific view from our window side table.... More
