The guide book reviews brag about this restaurant offering great views of Akureyri since it's on the top floor of a Bldg, which is unfortunate because that downplays the fine food coming out of the kitchen. We had an outstanding lunch - I enjoyed the lamb shank very much, while my traveling companion enjoyed the wolf fish (a type of... More

We arrived without booking and thankfully there was just one table left (tip - pre-book!). The staff were friendly and efficient. All of the meals were delicious. I started with a sushi, and had the catch of the day (cod). It was very well cooked. There was a happy hour for drinks from 8-10pm which helped a little with the... More

Akureyri was a busy place during last weekend when “half” of Reykjavík travelled to the northern capital city for skiing during the winter holidays in schools. Strikið was one of the crowded place but was handling the situation very relaxed and by perfection by the staff. The music was untraditional for a high class restaurant with Saturday night life style... More

We went there for dinner and had a prefixed menu. Even though the food was fine then the portions were quite small while the price was not. Beside then we were seated at a balcony or emergency door where the wind actually blew in so we were cold the whole time. Haven't gone again even though we are locals.

We had dinner here on our first night in Akureyri , trying out sushi (as that seems to be popular in many menus), the tempura Maki, the Salmon and Langoustine as well as the Fish of the Day (Wolf fish as it happens). The bread was delicious, having good flavours, crispy on the outside and good chew inside. The sushi... More

Strikid is the best. I always make a point of going when I am in Akueryi (so I've been three different times in the last three years). I've never been disappointed except that they sometimes change their menu and I get sad thinking of the wonderful things I had that are not available any longer. But I always feel better... More

Ate here last night and had a good experience, Peter our waiter was a very nice lad. The food was very well cooked and presented. Wasn't sure about the smoked goose! The duck was lovely, very rich and the beef cooked to perfection, would recommend you want be disappointed

Located conveniently in the city center, Strikid offered a wonderful view of the fjord at night. The humarsupa or langoustine soup accompanied with fresh bread and a rich compound butter was promptly served and just right before catching a flight back to Reykjavik.

Went to Strikid on a whim after reading reviews. We were not disappointed! I had lamb and my husband had the steak. Both cooked to perfection with generous portions. Would definitely go back 👍🏻
