We stayed for 3N and it was lovely. The rooms are new, spacious and comfortable. The sauna in the room is also new and is well appreciated. Breakfast is served even during weekends - it is very professional of the staff to remain helpful and...friendly even in the difficult times of pandemic. Food is delicious, and the menu has a good selection.More

Service staff can take some lesson how to inform that kitchen is closing up. So rude way that we deside to vote our feet because it felt like it’s the same do we come or not. Hopefully business runs so hood that they can skip...customers. And yes we undestand that kitchen is closing. It’s just how you say it. And we are not local so we don’t know what time kitchen is closing up. So not ratings on food because we didn’t try it.More

We came to Kultahippu restaurant at 19 o’clock. It was Saturday evening and tourist groups had reserved the dining room tables so we couldn’t get a table from the dining room for more than two hours so we decided to sit at the pub side...as many other diners had also done. So we recommend to make a table reservation during Dec - Mar. As the first course we had garlic snails with smoked reindeer & roquefort cheese frosting and white bread. It was good and the frosting to our taste. As the main course I had Kultahippu Veal with fried potatoes & green peas & small carrot. The veal was ripe and crisp. The veal was filled with sliced smoked reindeer which was tasty but odd looking. Fried chopped potatoes were too lightly fried with their shells, carrot grown in lean soil. My friend took char from Lake Inari with asparagus and a carrot of same type as in veal. The char was very good with crispy skin and a good dose but asparagus was mainly from jar including only one stem of fresh asparagus. As drinks we had beer, vodka schnapps, red wine, water and finally Café Avec. We got the impression that prices were reasonable but side dishes not satisfying. The waiters were sober but they didn’t keep etiquette. But maybe they don’t care about such here in Lapland when we sat at the pub side.More

We stayed 2 nights but I think we could have stayed one night in Saariselkä and one night would be fine here to catch flight next morning. We had family room which had 4 beds. Family room is in old outdated building. Breakfast was nice...although limited Vegetarian options. Walkable from Bus station. Superstore next to hotel across the road. It’s around 30 mins from Saariselkä by bus with single fare 8 euros. Ivalo Airport also not far. Best part: very caring and helpful staff Not so good: Old room, basic layoutMore
