We booked a table for two. The food was very delicious. We ordered Yebeg Tibis and Doro wet which both came really fast. But after the food we ordered Ethiopian coffee which took very long time. We were supposed to look for the staff in the restaurant and ask again two times. We also see that there is lack of... More

It is my first African food in my life. I ordered lamb dish as normal flavor. They are serving with big thin sour bread and you can eat it with your hand. It is little spicy but very nice.

We found this restaurant by chance, we checked if they had a table and got lucky. The restaurant is very authentic, the decor creates an atmosphere that transports you to Africa. We ordered the food that we know since we travel to Ethiopia regularly and were very satisfied with the quality, very tasty. The ingera bread was a little thinner... More

Me and my friends went to the restaurant in search of Ethiopian food. we drove there, so it was easy to find the place. As we went during lunch time, there were not many customers in the restaurant except one group of girls. The decor was very basic except for one corner that was decorated by traditional ethiopian furniture. It... More

This is my first experience of Ethiopian food, and I loved the lamb stew though I declined to eat it with my fingers as was highly recommended. I wasn't thrilled with the side dishes, particularly the steamed bread which was like a fat, squishy tortilla. However, I ended the meal with a Baileys over ice, so left very contented. The... More

Recently visited as two couples on a visit to Stockholm. The decor inside is lovely and relaxed and the staff friendly. We ordered vegetarian stew and mixed meat stew which is served on a choice of two types of bread and eaten with your fingers. It was delicious and very filling. It cost just under 900 Swedish Krona which is... More

This in my humble opinion is the best ethiopian restaurang in Stockholm. I've been here several times and every time leave with a full belly and a smile on my face. Service is not the fastest of it's kind, but waiting is always worth it. Especially with the coffee which is made and served in a traditional way.

This was my first time eating Ethiopian cuisine. Being a vegetarian, there was only one option which was pretty good. Injera bread with 5 different curries - spinach, lentils, potato etc. The ambience was great - good music and comfortable lighting. The service was fine. As for the food, though it was slightly expensive, the quantity was huge. The friends... More

The food is excellent. Very well-spiced, delicious food. Good injera, good yemsir, etc. But the service is quite poor and really slow, which means the food will not always be the right temperature. The decor is nice and the overall experience is comfortable and enjoyable. But it is a real shame about the slow service.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
