this maybe a chain, similar to Starbucks or Costa, but so much better with really nice selection of sandwiches and muffins, and great coffee, we went back twice in 24 hours :)

There are so many of these all over Sweden. One thing I really like is the cafe setup is really cosy, like at home. The coffee is so so to me . I didn't know they ha e Americano as it doesn't seem to show on the menu (or maybe it does but I can't read Swedish). So on few... More

Really, don't try it. It's waist of money and doesn't taste any different then normal coffee, actually it's even worse then the normal coffee. No Christmas taste at all so don't bother going there.

Went here for a sit down and coffee. I had to clear my own table which isn't a good sign. The Wi-Fi didn't work and the person served my partner and gave the wrong side coffee. To be honest the place is dirty. Not the best experience. I guess I'm lucky I like warm milk as the coffee was lacking... More

Can get a tad crowded at times, but the atmosphere is lovely, bagels delicious and coffee great. On a busy, touristy, street.

There are many Espresso House points in Stockholm. They are all very nicely decorated, but my husband and I did not really like the coffee.

This coffee house although on the pricey side is a favourite of ours, we call here everytime we fly to Stockholm which is typically twice a year. The staff talk to you as if you were l;ong lost friends and are quick to chit chat with you, very friendly and comfortable surroundings, this place gets very busy and seating is... More

After a cold walking tour for the city, we sat in this spot just to drink coffe and be warm again. Beautiful decoration, scandinavian style, good coffe. We ate a lime cake and a caramel cheesecake....excellent choices! I think thatCofee Espresso is like the Starbucks from Sweeden! Good experience in this cosy coffee store!

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
