Can get a tad crowded at times, but the atmosphere is lovely, bagels delicious and coffee great. On a busy, touristy, street.

There are many Espresso House points in Stockholm. They are all very nicely decorated, but my husband and I did not really like the coffee.

This coffee house although on the pricey side is a favourite of ours, we call here everytime we fly to Stockholm which is typically twice a year. The staff talk to you as if you were l;ong lost friends and are quick to chit chat with you, very friendly and comfortable surroundings, this place gets very busy and seating is... More

After a cold walking tour for the city, we sat in this spot just to drink coffe and be warm again. Beautiful decoration, scandinavian style, good coffe. We ate a lime cake and a caramel cheesecake....excellent choices! I think thatCofee Espresso is like the Starbucks from Sweeden! Good experience in this cosy coffee store!

And no, that's not a good thing. Stockholm has some FANTASTIC cafe's and coffee shops. You haven't been to Stockholm of you haven't fika (coffee and snacks with friends). Having said that espresso house is everywhere, they don't sniff at you for speaking in English and they are fairly reliable. They also sell cold brew coffee which is not bad.... More

The café doesn't just sells coffee. They have cakes, sandwiches and ice-cream too. The chocolate ice-cream is creamy and rich, not too sweet compare to its vanilla flavour - too sweet. I like the black coffee, its cappuccino is good too. Wanted to order their cakes, but we were too full with our ice-creamsssss.....

The place has a rustic feel about it and the staff give you the feeling they care. The coffee is very good and served with a smile. Various breakfast options including croissants. Although it is a large chain - they are very personable.

Thank Phil J

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
