Marten Trotzig was the final dinner of our visit to Sweden. The place was packed and lively when we walked in at 7:30. We were seated downstairs which at one time must have been the cellar. I had the 5 course tasting menu with wine...More

So disappointing for an authentic Swedish restaurant. Although the reindeer that I had was ok, everything else about this place was poor. The ambience was subdued, the temperature cold and the service from our surly waiter made our experience unwelcoming and rather unpleasant.

So this was my first Swedish restaurant this trip and I really enjoyed it, Shrimp on toast appetizer and lightly smoked and baked fish with potatoes and poached egg were really tasty. Also I had their milled wine (glok) and it was delicious. The stuff...More

Great service from the friendly staff in this ‘high end’ busy restaurant in the centre of the tourist area of Gamla Stan. Typically, expensive prices with starters around £15 (including the soup!) mains around £25 plus eye watering prices for alcohol. The cheapest wine being...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)
