Business meal, all agreed the food was average. Pizza ok but solid base and nothing special. Lack of herbs, spices or taste in all of our dishes. Wine selection was ok. Good access but tables and chairs were not comfortable. Good location. Service was good.

Stockholm is not cheap, so finding a restaurant was always tricky to ensure not spending a crazy amount of money. I booked this restaurant on my phone at the hotel, which was quick and easy. The staff were welcoming and warm and spoke excellent English too. The food was divine! We LOVE Italian food, and this did not disappoint. The... More

Loved the food here, both the pizza and the lasagna was heavenly. So good we had to try the homemade ice-cream and sorbet, both was just amazing. Staff was great, and the food was surprisingly cheap. Would love to come here again.

We reached Stockholm mid-morning and crashed in our room from jet lag. Got up around 6:00 pm and needed a real meal so off to Gamla Stan we went. We came across Rodolfino at about the time we hit the "If I don't eat in the next 5 minutes I may..." stage so in we went. It was deserted. That... More

I went with my with and we had a pleasure meal and service there. The waitress are friendly, try to communicate in other languages than English and Swedish and also speaks Italian. We had a good meal for a couple and spent around 480 SEKs.

So many places to eat in Gamla Stan - which to choose? We wandered around for a while and came back to Rodolfino which was the first place we had looked at. It was fine - not too pricey.

I have eaten here a number of times in the last three years and each time the service has been very good and the food very tasty. Both pasta and pizzas are good, and the Tiramisu is delicious.

We were a small group of 6 and were seated right away without a reservation. Service was attentive and friendly. We all ordered different pasta dishes. The consensus was the meals were good quality but much too salty. Individuals on low sodium diet ... beware!

The welcome was most effusive from the person who portrayed himself as the owner and we were seated at a table quickly. The interior is a bit dated, think an Italian restaurant of 1975 and you will know what this place is like. The menu offers plenty of choices and the order was taken quickly. We both had soup and... The square in Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town, where Rodolfino is situated, has seen a number of changes down the years. Once upon a time, this was one of Stockholm's major meeting places. This is where Carl Christoffer Gjörwell (1731-1781) had his bookshop and it was full of coffee houses and restaurants. There was a boisterous street life and the square was the scene of many historic events. These days, life on the square is considerably quieter, which suits Rodolfino perfectly, since the restaurant aims to offer guests a relaxing experience. The kitchen prepares Italian food, with a range of pasta, meat and fish dishes, as well as a number of examples of Sweden's home cooking tradition.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
