We were desperate for a hot vegetarian meal when we came across Orkide which is very close to Medborgarplasten. We were pleasantly surprised with the lovely decor and ambience and were a bit worried how expensive it would turn out :-) The food was very tasty, fresh, authentic thai, plentiful and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal so much that... More

HORRIBLE FOOD. Very bad , tasteless. How can they pretend to sell Thai papaya salad when it doesn't contain dried shrimps, green beans or peanut and with no typical salad dressing!!! The hot dish extremely tasteless. Avoid!

This place was a big disappointment. Cheap preparations with minimum effort. Starters are really small compared with the price. The main meals are similar to what you get in a lunch food court for one third of the price. It seems the chef is not making any effort or the boss is putting him on a tight budget.

Nice central location, tasty dishes and good service, where my allergies were taken care of without problems, and I got a good alternative.

Thai food is "da thing" in Sweden and there are more thai restaurants than you can count. Most of them serve street food but there are also some real restaurants, like this one. The food is very tasty and the service is good, but it's not really that much better than the street food thai that it motivates the higher... More

We were walking around, trying to find a place to eat, that my husband with Celiac could eat safely. We asked the guy who was there about the safety of not being "glutenized". He did not know what Celiac was, but my husband has a card that explains it in Swedish, so he was able to understand and showed him... More

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
