This restaurant has been in this location since 1728, and the interior feels like you have travelled back nearly that far, in a good way! Small, dark, with very friendly staff and other diners, on Thursday evening when we visited there was a piano player / singer who had most of the diners singing along - traditional danish songs I... Dined alone at the bar and I am half Danish and raised with Danish Cooking. Service was fast and meal was delicious. I had the traditional fish filet and Leverpostej. While dinner time they let me get lunch food along with a Tuborg and a Snaps. This is my second time there in a space of two years and found... More

A great place if you want something that reveals the history and character of Copenhagen. Traditional, unsophisticated, Skindbuksen (Leather Pants) is one of Copenhagen’s oldest bar-restaurants, having been located in Kongensgade in the centre of Copenhagen since 1728, albeit with different names. Full of character, with photographs and paintings, not just on the walls but even on the ceiling. Small,... More

The portions are huge. The restaurant is small and intimate. The waiters are friendly and entertaining. Live music on Thursday nights. We had a great evening. Table reservation would be a good idea. Forget about vegan, vegetarian and organic. This is food like our grandmother would make it. Lots to choose from: pork, beef, fish etc

We sat down and before you know it, people at tables on either side of my three sisters and I were engaging us in conversation. We enjoyed the food and camaraderie with our new friends. Food was delicious Danish specialties like pickled herring. Lots of choices. Very convenient location near Kongens Nytorv.

Of all the restaurants, Skinbucksen was my favorite in terms of experiencing the Copenhagen experience. Skinbucksen, ( leather pants worn by teamsters ) captures the atmosphere of a place where authors and painters gather. Again, it is not lavish. The walls are decorated with sketches of artists and authors who frequented Skinbucksen over the years. The menu is fixed and... More

Had a great meal here - good prawns, salmon and steak Copenhagen-style. Atmosphere is good - piano player when we visited. Would recommend - make sure you book in advance.

We tried to go here on a Friday night but the resturant was fully booked. There is live music Friday and Saturday We reserved a table for Sunday night and really enjoyed food and atmosphere. Sunday nights are also popular so best to reserve table in advance We had fish and both enjoyed

Absolutely loved the place. Such a curious little pub & restaurant with lots and lots of art all over the walls and ceiling to entertain. The owner seemed very happy to tell us of its history and of its many well known visitors and the lunch time open sandwiches were so good we ordered more! So fresh and tasty and... More
