Food was really good, with good service too. We had the 2 person menu (very Danish) and it did not disappoint. I highlight the first two courses (herring and salmon was very nice). Good selection of beers as well.

This restaurant is a great little gem, just off Nyhavn in central Copenhagen. The food is very traditionally Danish, and the place was full of locals when we arrived (which is always a good sign). There were also pictures of the Danish Royal family everywhere, and things like commemorative plates stuck on the walls, which was cute. We had some... More

Went there just by chance after walking in the city. Enjoyed the building and nicely decorated restaurant. When we finaly got our food to eat we were happily suprised by how good it tasted and the portion size. The service was also good. Would recomend it

... But a bit disappointing when it comes to the quantities. We took the smoked salmon and the plaice, and both were really fresh.

There are many good restaurants for Smørrebrød in Copenhagen and this one is definitely in the top end. It’s a small restaurant that makes you feel like you step back in time conveniently located close to the Royal Palace. There are also a few tables outside weather permitting but if you want to sit inside it’s best to book in... More

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times, and it always delivers. The service is relaxed but good. And the food is very classic danish "Smørrebrød" When you step in you get a feeling of visiting your grand parents. Its quite cosy and you have a cosy feeling here. I would recommend to book a table, but its not... More

Our first Danish meal in Copenhagen was a delightful experience. Ordered some local specialty to try out- pickled herring, Gravadlax and meat balls. Dishes were very tasty and fresh and the meat balls were soft and tasty!

We lunched at Amalie because of Tripadvisor reviews and were so pleased we did. It is a real sweetie of a restaurant. It has style written all over it. Decor is charming. Food is fabulous and excellent value for money. Service is solicitous. It was just so right in every way.

Amalie is a cosy restaurant close to the Amalienborg where we just watched the 'change of the guards'. The restaurant, a bit tight with the number of tables cramped in, but the decor spreads a feeling of a nice country home. The place is focusing on lunches. Serving traditional Danish dishes. Smoked herring, gravlax, crevettes with egg etc. are just... More
