I love places with local charm, and La Glace has tonnes of it. It's been a popular cafe and bakery in Copenhagen for generations, and it's not difficult to determine why: there is a gorgeous collection of cakes, pies and pastries, all fresh baked on premises. Pro-tip: although it's tempting to gawk at the beautiful cakes in the display, you're... More

Visited for breakfast on Sunday (opens at 11am). Pastries are around DKR25 and cake slices DKR57. Had some pastry. You can buy tea by the pot for around DKR50. Food was excellent.

Excellent cakes: great variety, loads of cream and custard for those who like that. Truly delicious. Yet, everything else unsatisfactory: if you are used to "real" café culture, the interior is disappointing indeed and does not create the atmosphere you wish to find. Items do not match and show poor taste (carpet, chairs). A versed interior decorator could do wonders!... More

We stumbled upon this famous bakery and had great cakes but I found the coffee not that great. It is served in a silver pot and is like filter coffee not espressos which I prefer. Service was excellent but it is expensive for what you get. They do offer free top ups of coffee, tea etc which is good if you... More

It is always worth it especially after a long day walking through the beautiful Copenhagen. The cakes are creamy, they look and taste great. There is always a little queue outside, but the wait is worth it: while waiting, you can mentally make your choice, so it might be easier to decide what you're going to order when you will be... There is always a little bit of queuing at any times outside, however - the cake waiting for you is definitely worth it. Sports cake is a must. You can't miss that. Normal coffee is very tasty, too. That's all you need for a lovely Copenhagen afternoon experience.

We were pointed towards this cake shop by some of the locals. After visiting the bakery, I think this is a must during your experience of the cuisine in Denmark. The shop has been around for 100+ years and prepares cakes with a lot of tradition. Done the "old fashion way". Be prepared to wait in line for about 10... More

Was recommended to visit by a local before I found it on TripAdvisor. While it is pricy slice of cake, it is a MUST to try the Sportskage at least once if you're visiting (I was so excited to try it that I forgot to snapchat it AND I consider it the best cake I have ever tasted). I also... More

This is a historic bakery located a few steps off the hectic pedestrian street of Stroget. There are 20+ cakes that can be ordered by the slide with coffee, tea, or other drinks. While excellent for service and appearance of the cakes, the taste is very good, but not OMG. Still would make an effort to get there if in... More

Firstly, let me just say the cakes were absolutely amazing! The service however could best be described as 'cold'. We were at the front of the queue when some locals wandered straight up to the door and the waitress was about to let them straight through until I challenged it. It seemed as though the locals were given preferential treatment... More
