I had the plaice whereas my wife had the Moules Frites. The plaice was ok -- plenty of meat on the fish, well-cooked (perhaps a bit overdone -- I'm no expert on plaice) and the potatoes were ok. The Moules were great -- plenty of flavour and the fries were good and tasted like potatoes (think the skin was left... More

Went there with my wife on the 5th. Great food and great service at what I thought was a reasonable price. My wife had the plaice which she thought was excellent and I had the mussels. I left one or two because they were not fully opened, but that was my choice. Had one large beer and a very nice... More

This restaurant is located in Nyhavn where you can see the canal and boats, but I have to say that the menu was not very attractive. Almost everything was fried and light mails were scarce.

Nice place to have an outdoor lunch and watch the crowds passing by. Old house with service mainly outside (at least in the summer season). Typical Danish menu.

Crackin' Burger overlooking the canal on Nyhavn. This place wasn't cheap, however when you consider its position along Nyhavn, watching boats, musicians nearby and the sun shining...it's well worth it! There are loads if restaurants on Nyhavn and it was hard getting a seat and picking one of them...we luckily found Pigen Og Somanden at the right time. Good beers,... More

We ate at this place near our hotel (Admiral) in Nyhaven. We had arrived that day and were craving something simple. We saw fish and chips on the menu here (a favorite dish from northern California) and we went inside to eat. It's a charming restaurant and nice setting, but very slow service, and I ordered a mussels dish. The... More

Super good fish and chips - a dish that is so often made (very) badly. A good choice on this strip of tourist restaurants that look exactly the same from the outside.

If you arrive ot Nyhavn it is really difficult to chose where to eat. The place is so lovely and the food on all table looks tasty. We found place at Pigen. I ordered Fish and Chips, and it was amazing.

Loved this restaurant, as its located in the Nyhavn area of the city. Nestled amongst all the other restaurants on the strip, food is good, but its mainly about the area and being able to eat outside.

The menu in Pigen og somanden offers a selection of simple dishes inspired by the Danish and French cuisines - with a special focus on seafood. The chefs take great pride in using the very best of the seasonal produce.

The decor in Pigen og somanden has many maritime details telling a tale of a time when Nyhavn was a bustling port and the center of Copenhagen's ship traffic. In the spring and summer months guests can enjoy the lively Nyhavn atmosphere on the restaurant's terrace.Pigen og somanden used to be Cafe Texas, where guests were encouraged to hand over their six shooter when entering the bar. Pigen og somanden is especially known for housing the internationally renowned tattoo artist Tato-Jack - who had his heyday in the 1950's and 1960's. Since 2007 the historic building has housed the restaurant Nyhavn 37.
