Nice Cretan reastaurant

Simply and lovely decorated reastaurant, mostly wood and bricks. The service is exeptional, very friendly and polite staff, eager to serve and assist, always smiling! There are a lot of traditional Cretan dishes (most of them include lamb meat), but also generally traditional Greek meat dishes. They also have some beef prime cuts (black angus). From what we ordered, I was amazed with the veal head cheeks, very tender meat, tasty and delicious. Snails were OK but I think the cook drown them into rosemary, therefore we couldn't taste the snails. The gamopilafo also was not done wery well, and it didn't have a lot of "staka" flavor. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook. Tasty red house wine. And at the end they teated us with a plate full of loukoumades, topped with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream, accompanied with a small bowl of hot chocolate. I will definately try it again.

You can enjoy very nice homemade recipes from Creta island. You should try the omelettes and the pasta ofcourse. You should drink their chilled raki also.

The whole place reminded me of my own island: Crete! I picked the dishes my Cretan grandmother prepared for Me! So tasty and well cooked! I only expected the owner to be a bit more friendly to me.. since I told him I come from Crete... instead he practically ignored my kind comments! And usually, I'm not a person who is not looked at! Kindness, especially in shops like this one, is essential.

First time and Sunday noon. When we entered we noticed on the left of a table a gentleman eating alone, probably the boss. Very difficult parking, but we immediately found a table. Very beautiful place with live music. The tables, however, are very close to each other and twisted, resulting in the seat being pushed by every passing person. The waitresses, two young children, filotoms, walked elsewhere and were elsewhere. Christmas disappointment

We’d just arrived from the airport and gone to our AirB&B just opposite the restaurant. It was 10:15pm and we wanted a drink. We popped across the road. Maria and Stavros greeted us and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. While we’d only gone for drinks we ended up having some delicious nibbles. Everything was so good we booked and went for dinner the following night. They cook all of their good over live fire so the flavours are delicious. Dinner was also amazing, just what we’d been after. The wine was delicious and very reasonable. I’d thoroughly recommend a visit. I cook for a living, running a BBQ school. Thank you for such lovely food and being so welcoming.

This place offers a huge variety in traditional delicacies from Crete - hard to find in the north of Greece. It has a very cozy atmosphere, giving you a homey feeling like you are a guest of the family owing the place. The prices are very reasonable, even inexpensive for the quality that is offered. Be sure to taste some traditional raki (drink) and on Thursdays you can enjoy the food along with some traditional live music.

Very beautiful place! Nice atmosphere and polite people. Whatching those open cooking fire places I felt so warm and so overwhelmed. The food was really nice, the portions were rich and the service friendly but professional. For sure I am going back.

The title summarizes about everything - Nice place, most dishes and salads are tasty and well-prepared in the open kitchen, the majority are from the Cretan cuisine, parking is rather easy to find (after around 9pm just outside the restaurant - not allowed and certainly tougher in earlier hours), prices in the mid-range (we usually pay around 15€/person when dining with 4 or more friends, including beer and/or the -passable- wine of the house). At the end, a complimentary dish of traditional loukoumades (doughnuts) with ice-cream helps towards a pleasant dining experience. The major drawback is that they allow smoking in the whole dining space and the ventilation can not cope, so be prepared to return home with a strong smoking smell all over your clothes.

Simple, casual, tasty cretan tavern

Housed in an old house which used to be a bar for several years. Cosy place with very polite staff, though not entirely aware of the menu, esp the wine list which is limited. Open kitchen where the cook using real flames from charcoal. Good quality food with tasty cretan specialties. However if you want something more standard i.e. steak or burger, these are available too. Everything is accompanied by the sound of the cretan lyra - wish they had live music. I have already recommended the place to friends and will be revisiting. Nice small garden at the back (for the summer months).
