The outdoor seating area features two cages. The first is small, rusty and bare and contains one solitary blackbird in an obvious state of physical and emotional distress. The second, tiny cage contains two little songbirds with a rough board separating them so that they...have no contact whatsoever with each other and precious little space to move on their own. None of the birds have any stimulation or space. I have been to Greece many times and know that caged birds are common pets. Nonetheless, these in particular looked so neglected that I found the whole experience of eating here upsetting and I couldn’t wait to leave.More
Kozi is one of our go-to restaurants when in Naxos, our favorite Greek island. We ate dinner five times out of nine days at Kozi. It’s unpretentious but with excellent food and seemingly always open. The family run restaurant has attentive staff and a nice...view over the beach to the Portara. My wife had the mousaka as she often does in Greece and declared it the best at Kozi. I had the braised beef over spaghetti and the bolognese a couple times each. Not fancy but very comfortable and delicious for a very reasonable price.More
Our host at Evilion Apts, Nektarios, recommended Kozi to my daughter and myself....he was correct! Everything was delicious. My daughter is a vegetarian but that was no problem with wonderful salad and veggie entrees...we should have gone again but our trip had so many adventures...and other superb places to eat on Naxos.....next year😸More
Kozi was recommended to us by a local working at the tour agency near the port bus terminal. And she was right, fresh traditional meals at reasonable prices. We enjoyed many meals at Kozi while sitting outside taking in the views of the sea and...the Portara (Temple of Apollo). Amongst our favourites was the spit roast lamb, pork and chicken souvlakia, sheftalia, bacon and chicken skewers, and the fresh tomato and cucumber salad.More
On our second visit to Naxos. We had found this place the first time, and knew that we had the best quality/cost ratio in town.
And, sure enough, not being big eaters, we asked if we could just have grilled meat patties and a salad....Of course! And they were great. Then, after an evening at the festival, could we get the same at 11? Why of course, and again, delicious. When you can have what you want when you want it, why want anything else?More
This is near the port and just a little way from the other restaurants. Slightly cheaper perhaps. The food was fine and although we didn't find of the the places here particulary outstanding the price difference made meals and drinks more reasonable. I am sure...that travellers to the islands will have found the same menu in all the restaurants and similar prices also.More
Kozi is a no frill restaurant predominantly frequented by locals but also a few tourists. It's not in the maze of the chora so not as touristy. It was recommended by the hotel manager and I'm so glad it was! Portions are absolutely MASSIVE and...the food is super tasty. The best part? It's incredibly cheap! I went back two nights in a row to try something different and wasn't disappointed. I was treated friendly and I felt welcome despite being on my own (this is not always the case in restaurants). Highly recommended!More
Initial thoughts Great view clean and tidy restaurant, male staff ok asked and delivered food, I packed up the entree plates that sat till main course came and I have to say the entree of stuffed mushrooms was very nice then it just went down...hill we ordered lamb on the spit and chicken on the spit came with cold rice and cold pre cooked chips totally disappointed both meats dry and not cooked on a spit. we left most of our meal and no one even asked or cared whether we enjoyed it. I went in to pay as you do when there is no service spoke to an older guy who barked Maria and not a word was spoken from him or the female who had a V in texta at the front on her short shorts .....cheap .. worst meal on the island.
we went to Sirocco for decent wine and dessertMore
