We came in late afternoon with only one client. Family cafe environment. Seafood risotto is the best we ever had in Greece and tiramisu as recommended by the owner. He really got his character, but pretty ok with us.

Prassein Aloga is one of the best choices if you are near Heraklion center. The problem is that in a crowdie day, you can hardly find a table and you will probably need to make a reservation in advance. The place is small and cozy with the possibility to sit outside in the sunny days. The food is excellent (we... More

Nice & warm place, nice & kind staff, tastefull recipes. The cook knows the difference between rare and medium rare. You should taste any steak or fillet is in the menu. Also any kind of risotto. The house wine is really good and cheap. Definitely a place in Heraklion where you can eat more than descent!

We included the Prassein Aloga on our list based on some of the reviews. We chose beef on a bed of rice and yoghurt and enjoyed it so much we returned on our last night to have the same again. On the second occasion we chose starter - vegetable balls and mushroom, both were delicious. The restaurant is located to... More

An interesting menu of starters and main courses with promising descriptions is offered as an appetizer. Toma on the service explains in detail not only the ingredients of each dish but also the most appropriate way to eat it! Moroccan, Serbian, Italian dishes that we tried were all prepared in style and were very tasteful. Perhaps only the pasta needed... More

Having read the rave reviews of Prassein Aloga I decided to give it a go on my last night in Iraklion. The food, did not disappoint, it was excellent (I'm Greek), which was a pleasant surprise given the hit and miss nature of Greek taverns on the Island in particular. While the food was excellent, the service was downright rude.... More

This is by far the best restaurant in Heraklion that everyone MUST visit. Small and cozy, personal service (special thanks to Thomas) and the dishes are amazing! Maybe a bit hard to find (there isnt a clear sign outside) I live in Heraklion and whenever i want to go out for dinner Prassein Aloga is the first option for me.... More

Small and cozy restaurant in the Handakos pedestrian zone of Heraklion. The “Green Horse” (=name of the restaurant) is situated in a quiet environment, offers attractive seating in the small interior, exterior under an awning or in the sidewalk area. It impresses by a small, well sorted menu card. Greek and further food of excellent quality and flavor is offered... More

I found thist restaurant by chance. Quiet place and just a few tables outside. But as the interest grew, more tables were brought outside. And during the evening there were people waiting to get the place - a good sign of a good restaurant. I returned once more another day. The food was excellent. Not a huge menu to choose... More
