The Kymata (which means waves) is more or less on the beach. A lovely experience listening to the waves as you enjoy your food. The staff are friendly welcoming and very professional helping with the menu and explaining the specials. The taverna is just outside the village on the western side. We have been a few times over the last... More

Scored Kymata "very good" only because the overall experience is better than average but the food does not really warrant a higher score. In a good location over their own stretch of beach to the west of the village, it stands alone so is easy to find. A large taverna so in mid September when things are quietening down there... More

If you've followed a couple of my other reviews, you will hopefully feel I'm harsh - but fair. Well, I'm certainly not going to be harsh with Kymata. For such a vast sized Taverna the few staff remain cheerful whilst working flat out. The usual fair is on offer and we tried Moussaka and the Lamb from the Oven over... More

Only had lunch of a few starters which were very tasty. Service was very quick and friendly. Will be back for dinner after seeing the size of the sea bass

Perfect location by the sea looking out to the harbour. Staff friendly and welcoming greeted with kiss on both cheeks! Shown to table straight away by the sea. Water was poured straight away while we looked at menu. Food was very high standard. We really enjoyed 2 courses. Highly recomend. Gorgeous place, location & food. Very special.

Although this restaurant is called Kymata Sushi Bar, the restaurant serves much more than sushi. Some of the dishes are Japanese, others are Greek. The wine list is good and against good prices. We first came to this place in the evening for having a glass of wine. As we liked it there, we also decided to go there for... More

I had to break this review down into three categories to properly describe this restaurant. I'd rank the atmosphere, staff, and amenities (toilets, bar, etc.) as four stars. The staff are very sweet and helpful, the restaurant is 'open air', and I am told the toilets are sublime. The setting is a solid five stars, as it sits right on... More

- big, clean, superb sea front setting with crashing waves on private sandy beach. Nice toilets. Half the family had souvlaki and rated it less than at En Plo in Rethymnon, but better than elsewhere. One 6/10 rating for the fresh swordfish. My boureki was very nice. Service friendly and very good.

It is not just the food but the whole location and the ambience of the place right up against the sea with small beach. Our son can be quite difficult to feed but he was brave and tried the Swordfish. He gave it a 9/10 and that is high praise for him. Staff are friendly with a warm welcome. This... More

It is very lovely at Kymata. The food is great especially the chicken snitchzel!! Lovely food but we did have a very dodgy crepe but other than that the food and service was great💯👍
