I had a bad experience in another nearby restaurant, from which I left hungry & a few euros poorer. I came to the taverna quite late in the evening, and went for the quick soup of the day. It was a delicious Fish Soup with lumps of baked fish along with baked potatoes, carrots, spinach, peas and other vegetables. Hearty... More

Wonderful tasty Greek food, friendly service and reasonable price! Our family of five went there for dinner our first night in Athens and we loved it!

Loved this restaurant! Heard only Greek being spoken, which makes me think a lot of locals enjoy going there. You can get a lot for a very low price and great atmosphere!

Ordered four (4) of the pasta (spaghetti) dishes and they were absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was charming and untouched.

We loved our visit to To Paradosiako! I had eggplant in tomato sauce and my husband had stuffed cabbage leaves. Both dishes were great and filling! The restaurant quickly filled up with locals.

We enjoyed our Authentic Greek lunch here at Paradosiako! The Moussaka was the best I had tried on my trip. Everyone raved about their dish.

Excellent food, tzatziki is perfect. Bread is toasted over the roasting meat and delicious. Horiatiki (Greek) salad is fresh and delicious. Hope to come back here for another meal before we leave Athens.

First night in Athens we found this fabulous restaurant. Beet root salad, Greek salad, chicken skewers, pork skewers and wine. More than enough for four adults, great service, best chicken ever! Loved this little find.

Excellent food had by all 10 members of our party. A good spot away from the main drag. Try the grilled fish or the salads they went down very well.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
