This is a roof terrace of Hotel Central in Plaka. We stayed at this hotel and we visited the roof terrace 3 times, mid-day, sunset and night. The view of the Acropolis was AMAZING! The bar offers a wide variety of drinks, and it is open from 11:00 till 23:00 on weekdays and till 24:00 on weekends. The staff was... More

By far has to be one of the best places to see the Acropolis change from day to night. Very popular, have to be early to front row.

This bar is great for if you don't want to search for a restaurant or bar after a long day but also don't want to just sit in your room eating take away. The views are incredible and the staff are lovely. Good selection of drinks too.

The view is sublime and they make a reasonable cocktail, too! Prices are standard hotel rates, though not too bad given the view. There are some light meals available too.

We stayed at the central hotel and The Terrace Bar is on the roof of it. We had drinks there and watched the sunset. Best view of the Acropolis and as far as the eye can see in Athens!

This is the rooftop terrace of the Central Hotel, where we stayed for 7 nights. We had a light dinner one night, pizza that was delivered quickly, hot and tasty. The big attraction of course is the view of the Acropolis, which is dazzling after dark, and of other sights in Athens including the Temple of Hephaistos. On our last... More

The view and atmosphere on this rooftop bar are fantastic! We were a bit surprised by the price they were charging for drinks considering this is right above a mid-range hotel, but I guess it was inline with other similar venues.

We only had drinks here. I'm not sure if they had food or not. They do give you some nibbles with your drinks. Atmosphere and views are relaxing and pleasant.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
