Very nice music, friendly stuff and amazing view of Acropolis, our favorite place in Athens. We will visit that place again.

We had such a fantastic time at this restaurant...we went back again the following evening for a second dinner with different friends! We had a reservation our hotel booked for us the first night, but winged it the second evening. Reservations are wise to get, from what we could tell, so we just lucked out. The white sangria was incredible,... More

This bar is located at the top of a hotel near the Monastiraki metro. It's a great bar but the most impressive thing is its view. At night, especially, you beautiful view of the lit up Acropolis. So, it can get pretty crowded at night and on the weekends. It's best to visit in warmer months so you can sit... More

Just by the Acropolis, a nice view and tasteful food. In the heart of the city with a nice background music to enjoy the company and all the surroundings with the skyline view.

So glad we went here. It was a busy Saturday night and understandably so because the views from the roof terrace are just magical. Well worth the cost of a cocktail or two to just soak in the atmosphere and history.

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
