The best Chicken I have ever had in my entire life! Quite pricey but most certainly worth the money.

We recently stayed at the Electra Palace. We decided to book The Electra roof garden restaurant for our first dinner here. It was delicious, made all the better by the fantastic view of the Acropolis. The staff were all very friendly. The service was excellent, so we ate here every evening during our three night stay.

This hotel has recently been opened (previously the Ministry of Education). The hotel/restaurant has been imaginatively developed and the roof-top restaurant provides amazing views of the Acropolis. The food/service was excellent and I strongly recommend the asparagus risotto.

The dinner was during our stay at the hotel. The view of the historic site was amazing during the evening after sunset. The lighting effect was mesmerizing.

The restaurant is very nice with great food. The menu is nice, but could offer more authentic Greek selections.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
