I spent three days in Athens for a conference and based it around having one proper meal a day at this place. Extra friendly staff, good food and very nice atmosphere. A good variety of items on the menu, including some Greek dishes. The menu also has some stuff for kids (family of 5 next to me had a great... More

May 2017 I returned to Gostijo kosher restaurant with good memories from a previous visits over the past three years. I was not disappointed and discovered that the restaurant has managed to maintain its high standards that I experienced previously. The Mediterranean menu with assorted appetizers and salads as starters, wonderful vegetable soup, assorted meats and vegetables as well as... More

Gostijo is a great restaurant- whether you require kosher or just want to enjoy a meal out in the Athens city centre. As soon as we arrived the delightful Riki made us feel at home, and the kind waitress was attentive to all the customers' needs. The meal was great: succulent traditional Greek food, such as souvlaki and gyros, and... More

Good sephardic cuisine, with a variety of middle eastern and mediterranean tastes. The service was warm and attentive. The little yard in the back is the best place for warm spring and summer nights.

I felt at home and the food was delicious. The two of us shared chicken cigars with tehina, meat moussaka and a salad. The salad was huge, enough for two. The moussaka portion was enough for one, but we shared it and still left feeling full. The prices were a bit more expensive than the prices we saw advertised in... More

Luckily we found this kosher restaurant about 10 minutes away from our hotel, The Grand Bretagne. The restaurant was conveniently located near one of their main sightseeing streets. It was very clean, spacious, warm and welcoming. The menu was comprehensive and the food was great!! We got to eat kosher Greek food which is rare for us. The service was... More

This restaurant is centrally located and easy to find on a quiet little side-street. The decor is modern and the service was great. Most importantly, the food was excellent. We ate there on two consecutive nights in early May and both times the food and the service were excellent. We even ordered burekas to "take out" for us to have... More

The food was amazing, the service was in a very high class. Not only did I enjoy kosher food, but Ricky (the manager) is wonderful and gives great tips for first timers. Whenever i'll get the chance I will definitely go back.

The interior is rather pathetic than averagish (mostvof the restaurants in athens have much better interior), food was disappointing (portions were small and of average taste) - rice in the stuffed tomates was overcooked, Sephardi salas was just whatever.

Thank Miha k

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
