What an awesome atmosphere to watch the locals perform traditional Greek dance to live Greek music. Very entertaining

Extremely unprofessional behavior. The service was rude. It seems like the goal of the business is how to earn more money from the customers than to provide a better quality. I highly NOT recommend this restaurant.

We reserved a table at the Kotili café-restaurant for several people as we were celebrating a friend’s graduation. Kotili was chosen because it offered live music and delicious appetizers to accompany our drink. Arriving at the place and after we got seated we were announced that there is a minimum consumption of 13 euros per person, which was never mentioned... More

Having walked around the Agora we settled at Kotili for lunch. The service was good and the Greek salads that we ate were tasty.

Out of five different dishes we ordered only one was good, the vegetarian and also the tzatziki was ok. The rest was a waste of time and money. The music is so loud that after 10 minutes you wait for the breaks between the songs.

My family and I enjoyed lunch in this restaurant. Nice authentic greek grill and fresh seafood. If you want seafood, this is a place for you. I ordered mixed seafood and wife ordered fried anchovies. They were both very tasty. We finished lunch with complimetary ice cream and mastiha spirit (i think this is the best so far). The place... More

If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place for you! We had a walk up and down the street its located on before choosing to go in. We liked the heated terrace where my husband could smoke to his hearts content like most people around us. Service was excellent, we ordered mezes which were average but... More

Having spent a few days in Athens, I am getting to know the lively warmth of the people here. This was lacking at Kotili, where the service was so so and the food was OK. The live music and atmosphere however, are very good.

Kotili is different from the other restaurants all around as it has an amazing heated terrace where you can eat and enjoy Greek music. You can try a lot of different Greek typical dishes that are very tasting and are not expensive. They offered us also a shot of Ouzo which I recommend. If you are in Athens and you... More

If you look for a loud place where to listen to Greek music and have something to eat this can be your place. Abandon the hope to have a romantic evening ( too loud) and do not expect fine specialties. Sit, eat something, and let you embrace by the music (real special offering of this place). Prices are right, service... More

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
