Disappointed. Asked if they had Baklava. Was told yes. Ordered it. Drank coffee. Then told no baklava. Coffee was ok. Will never know if the baklava was good. Bit expensive too for what we had.

oinomageirio is the greek version of tavern which means casual dress and non standard food catalogue. On the other hand all usual greek specialites are there. Service is good and prices too.

This is the Greek title of "God's Restaurant", very close to the Acropolis Metro station, so please check out my review under the same title.

We settled for a selection of appetisers( mezze) of which the chickpea soup was outstanding. Courgette (zuchini) fritters were also very good. We had hummus and pitta (fresh and crispy) and a really outstanding dry and fruity local white wine . total 49 euros We couldnt eat it all so had a doggy bag which made a pleasant pic-nic in... Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
