Came in for a late lunch and had Gorgeous food and great service. Well worth a visit. I honestly think it deserves a higher ranking on TripAdvisor. The chocolate waffles were amazing!!

We only wanted a quick lunch today - well it slowed down once here to enjoy every mouthful. Alfa beer and hot mezes. A very busy taverna with wonderful service.

Attracted to this place by the big bottle of Aperol outside and they do mix a mean Spritz (City Zen is the best). Food was great. I had the veggie risotto which was nice. The kids had Gyros and Souvlaki, and my wife had a spinach-cheese pie. I also had a glass of the tasty but rather odd blue wine... More

This square with several restaurants beckoning you to come in is a welcome respite from sight seeing. Got the typical Greek dishes and loved them. Sitting outside is the way to go. On a nice day!

We were greeted on arrival and taken to a table. The meal was lovely and plentiful. It was presented nicely and served to us by a friendly waiter. We were so impressed by the standard of the meal and the price that we returned the following evening. Once again, we were very happy with our meal. In the future, when... More

Great traditional Greek cafe that serves the best feta saganaki, stuffed tomatoes, moussaka and souvlaki. As usual we ordered way too much but my family actually forced ourselves to finish our meals as it was so good. Great service also, so overall we had a great evening with a positive experience. Of course we want to try different places and... More

Lovely restaurant. Very Greek. Traditionally Greek. Which is what we were looking for. They were happy to explain menu and make a few changes. Brilliant Greek salad. Great service. And reverts given a little treat of s traditional liqueur at the end of our meal. Great good. Great service and great venue and traditional atmosphere. Thank you.

We loved the place, Anastasios served us well, food was delicious!!! Excellent recommendations on menu and for wine choices. Chill, sparking ambience great for friends or romance. I would eat there again.

After overeating for the past few days we were ready to have a lighter meal, so chose a plate of mezes and some fried potatoes. The food was tasty and prices reasonable. and was served with a basket of bread. At the end of the meal there was a complimentary glass of liqueur. The setting of candlelit tables under big... More

That I have ate moussaka and it was the best. Can't say enough about our lunch. The waiter was fantastic. Brought us extra kalamatas olives that were the best. Tried some Greek ice tea with honey. The after lunch treat was watermelon with a shot of liqueur . Don't drink so my wife stepped in for both of us. Overall... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
