These guys are the best! They remembered me after one visit, and then today I was a bit lost but came around the corner and there were my guys! Opening the door and offering my usual cappuccino and baklava! Super friendly, hard-working, and a great value for the euro.

The grilled octopus was recommended by our excellent waiter and it was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Greek pastisio and it was yummy! We loved it so much that we went back for dinner later that week.

This is a place along tbe street in the Plaka amongst many other restaurants and shops. Yanni herds you in from the street and sidewalk. The service is attentive. Despite a large crowd, we got our food quickly. We love their cappuccino freddo which is an iced cappuccino. The coffee quality is very high. The food is good. The octopus... More

We enjoyed drinks accompanied by some local feta, olives and bread. Most enjoyable and staff friendly, While we didn't eat, the food being prepared looked fabulous, fresh and definitely attracted our attention.

Exhausted after a hot day ,we did not want to wander much far into Plaka and stopped at this restaurant. As it was mentioned in the Eating section of the Lonely Planet Athens guide we thought it would be different from the usual Plaka tourist trap. In fact ,it turned out to be a real nice one! with touts waving menus... More

As others have written, walk by a restaurant in the Plaka, and someone will stop you and talk up their restaurant. Does not matter the time. Already eaten?...Come in for another meal. Gentleman outside showed us their menu. Invited us inside to see the kitchen and told us the first round of drinks were on them. It was early so... More

We ate lunch here, and we are very happy we did. We chose to eat outside, to feel the "pulse" of Athens, watching the locals and tourists alike while waiting for our food. The salad and dessert are great, but my favorite is the Moussaka!

We ate here twice; once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch was excellent; they even brought us to the kitchen area to see what was prepared. The fried cheese is to die for!!! I would have given this place an excellent but on our last night we went returned for dinner. As they run out of items they do... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
