Had lunch and beers here with my husband. Food was very nice, location is great to take in the place and people watch. Sat under the big tree which was lovely. Staff is unreal. Very lovely and nice. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Had dinner here twice because we loved the place. The first time we went they had live music which was cool. We ordered moussaka, portobello mushrooms penne, zucchini and cheese croquette and stuffed tomato and pepper. Everything was good (that's why we came again) and...More

The place was nice, the food tasty and the prices, ok. However, in the evening two large cockroaches appeared as we were sitting outside. I do not know what they could do about it, but is it acceptable?

Monastiraki is a very popular location in the Old town. The location of this cafe is also very central. Very cool place to eat, drink and people watch. We had delicious pork gyros, mythos beer and frappe. Highly recommended!

Another group meal and another nice evening in Athens. Weather was perfect, warm without being humid and we sat outside soaking up the live music and the people passing by. The musicians were clearly very talented, but maybe just a touch on the loud side...More

The waiters could be better trained..we sat down yesterday around 8pm, the waiter was right behind us, and I asked him to take our order and with a blasé look said in a little while.....which took up to 10 minutes and still no waiter came...More

Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a
difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the
Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized
streets surround the remains of both the Greek and
Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is
where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the
tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki
