Tsougkri has moved to halandri. It offers well cooked freshly made dishes, but it is so expensive. A normal size steak costs 25 Euros and is stated as an xlarge Tbone steak on the menu, which is misleading. The staff look anxious to make you leave in case you have forgotten to check your watch that is actually bed time... More

NEW ADDRESS: Tzougri is owned by George Partsalakis, the famous and well known Greek actor and his son Manolis. He is really a beloved actor for Greeks and I cannot imagine anyone here who does not know him and his excellent acting. The old Tzagri restaurant used to be at Thysio but recently has moved to Halandri. Luckily I decided... More

One of the best places to enjoy real Cretan cuisine, and not only. Very good choice of wines, excellent chef, very polite and well trained staff. A place to go again and again.

I visited Tzougri with Greek friends.. The food for me is very important and Tzougri is a dream for people who like food .A lot of dishes from Crete very good atmosphere ,artistic decoration and polite service. Typical Cretan cuisine, extremely expensive though, prices not worth the rather poor service and the decoration reminds of a NY lounge bar rather than a Cretan restaurant.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
