Although this is very much a tourist restaurant the food is good and reasonably priced. It is situated just at the beginning of Plaka so very easy to find..

Disgusting service. Small portions. Forgot about the ordered fish. I do not advise. Отвратительный сервис. Маленькие порции. Забыли про заказанную рыбу. Не советую.

We gravitated to this friendly restaurant in Plaka section of Athens because of a energetic hawker and some good Greek music being played onto the street to add to the festive first evening in Athens. The head waiter took us to the kitchen to see the actual fresh foods that were on the menu. I had pork tenderloin with mushroom... More

Near the bustling street Adrianou in the heart of the Plaka, and just off the characteristic Filomousou Eterias Square, it is made of 2 or three connected restaurants of different levels and prices sharing the same name. I was with a school trip in the most basic one, which turned out to be quite good. Service is kind but a... More

We got sweet talked into eating here by the spruiker out the front. the food was OK - better than most, the kleftiko I had was nice, all meals came with a lot of potatoes done in the oven I might add. the house wine is fine, the toilet is hard to get to for anyone that will struggle to... More

In the direction we were walking in, this was the first restaurant we came across in Plaka, and the owner obviously knows that if he doesn't pull in the people, someone else will, as there are lots and lots of restaurants further down the street. I must admit that I'm usually quite put off by restaurant owners or staff who... More

we were asked to stop for good food as they solicitated people to dine at their outdoor location..... we enjoyed the meal good squid, and nice salad... the fish was a whole fish on the plate... and free dessert... they didnt charge you for all the wine but then the pricing was not a bargain either... we had laughs and... This restaurant is very overpriced for the small portions that they serve. The service was incredibly slow and it took them ages to get us our check. The restaurant was not even busy when we were there. We paid with a credit card and since the machine "wasn't working" we gave them another card to try. We wound up being... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
