Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Breakfast in the Confectionery to taste the typical port cream cakes 😋. Prices are super affordable despite the location. We order: lattes (€1.20), cappuccino (€2.50), hot chocolate (€2.50), cream cakes (€1.30) and tigelinhas (€1.40). It was all delicious. It is a bit awkward the place as the tables are quite small and is always full. For us, the best cream pies in town. Super recommended 🔝 PS: We ordered a Too Good To Go from the establishment and I don’t recommend it so much anymore. Lots of bread (about 5 or 6) and only a couple of Neapolitans, we expected more pastry products as there was a lot of variety of cakes and pastries on the counter.

Offer some wonderful sweets to buy. The cafe has a splendid decor. There is a restaurant downstairs where typical dishes are eaten at a good price, with a pleasant atmosphere, attentive service and a clientele from the country.

Very good pastries, good coffees and better toasts and sandwiches at an excellent price. We went to this place based on its reviews and we loved both the service and the quality of the breakfast. As a note, the juice they gave us was 100% natural. Everything we ordered (toast + coffee with milk, sandwich + coffee with milk and bottle of orange juice) cost us 11 euros. I recommend it.

My husband and I were excited to dine here and try the pastries, but unfortunately, we felt discriminated against during our visit. Upon arrival, an older man gestured roughly toward some seats and then completely ignored us. While we didn’t mind getting our own menus, what happened afterward was frustrating. When we attempted to get the attention of two waiters (a young man and an older man) to place our order, we were continuously overlooked. What made it worse was seeing a group of Caucasian patrons who arrived after us promptly served by the younger waiter. We also noticed other Caucasian guests being seated and attended to more proactively. Despite raising our arms for an extended time, both waiters were fully aware we wanted to order but chose to ignore us. After waiting for 10 to 15 long minutes without being served, we decided to leave and go to a café across the street. Notably, we were the only Asians in the café. While I would like to give the benefit of the doubt and assume it was just poor service, the pattern made that seem highly unlikely. This was our first time experiencing something like this in Porto, and it was incredibly disappointing.

Extemely busy, full of tourist. Waiters do not give a hoot. Bought a pastry got charged for seven, two teas and a pastry 16 Euros. Tourist trap, and I would not mind as I knew going in, but the pastry was underbaked. They really do not give a hoot. Check off my list. Thee is a close pastry shop which is much better the Cristo Rei.

Very nice brasserie atmosphere facing the very sanitized Bolhao market. You can nibble on typical snacks or regional dishes in an authentic atmosphere with very friendly waiters. The pastries are to die for, obviously the pasteis but you have to try the tigrelinhas do bolhao.

I entered I sat at the table I waited 10m and nobody came to raise the table of previous customers nor asked what q wanted. Some tourists arrived 5 minutes after me sat down and immediately came to tender. When I called the employee after he delivered the food to the vacationers. I told him q was there 10 meters away and hadn't been served. Apologized raised the table. But he didn't ask anything. The colleague told him to go to the other table to see the q they wanted and he went without asking me what q was going to eat. There was no reason to have approached the employee. It was immediately ignored. I got up and left. It was easy to identify pq was right at the desk on the edge of the box where they register the order. Lack of organization at work.

In this patisserie located opposite Mercado Bahleo , the service is quite fast although it is crowded. cramped chairs, small tables, but it reminds me of the places in the Portuguese merchants' dining places of the 1700-1800s. Here you can choose one of the menu prepared similar to schnitzel with turkey, chicken and fish. with rice and fries on the side. There is a wide variety of bakery products..local delicacies continue. The almond cookies were amazing...

The number of locals going into the Confeiteiria caught our attention and we headed in. We don't speak Portuguese and wondered if we would get a table as the place was packed on a Saturday morning. The staff looked a little solemn, but despite being extremely busy they were helpful, attentive and patient with a pair of tourists who were unfamiliar with the wonderful Porto treats and drinks. We really enjoyed our pastries, cake and coffees, but this place has a great atmosphere and it was enjoyable to sit and take in the buzz of the room.

Cafeteria recommended in the backpacker's guide. Pastry shop at the entrance in the length with people and room with tables in the back. Full menu, possible to eat and all prices are more than fair, pastel de nata at €1.3. Excellent service, good experience

During the month of June this classic house displays the Sao Joao menu. Grilled sardines preceded by a green soup. With a glass of vino verde, the price is €11.50. Unbeatable and good. Pretty decorated room at the back of the pastry shop. Efficient and friendly service.

Confeitaria do Bolhão became our “go to” cafe for morning cappuccino and pastries as well as light lunches. It’s is beautiful, busy and good food. It has been a Porto staple since 1890. It is directly across the street from the Bolhão Market, which is must see. Highly recommend it.

Very nice place and everything is very good. The coffee with milk very good. All products are homemade and the prices are very affordable. It is the best confectionery in Porto. For example, 2 coffees with milk with 2 croissants and two buns all €6.5.

If you happen to be in an area take a moment to relax in this historic Porto bakery. To have a snack sitting at the table you spend the right despite the place seems to be more expensive. Good desserts and friendly staff

I ended up at this bakery by pure chance, just because it was early in the morning and it was the one I found open for breakfast. Nice find! Old, art nouveau style decor, very busy, tables with locals and foreigners, windows full of different sweets and a wide variety of fresh bread. I had a lovely breakfast and enjoyed admiring the walls, the ceiling and the mirrors. I took photos, selfies and was enchanted by all the frenzy of an early morning, in the unbeaten city, right outside the emblematic Mercado do Bolhão.
