Having read some of the mixed reviews I was not too sure about this place in advance. The restaurant is situated in a corner of a beautiful square. I sat outside and enjoyed the ambience. The service could not have been more professional and I...had a delicious Crustacean soup.More

Though the food is a little pricy, the experience was well worth it. Every dish ordered was superbly presented and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. The outdoor seating at the nicest public square in Guimaraes, a luxury.

Waiters are totally lost, no cohesiveness between them. Where was the maitre d'. Several tables got up and left. A French couple were so irate that they confronted Management, they waited over an hour just for their water. The food was satisfactory And creative, but...over priced . This place can be an exceptional with professional service. Mismanagement is the perfect term for this restaurant.More

Excellent food, with traditional elements of Portuguese food. Very well prepared and not very expensive. Comparable with other 4 restaurants: S. Giao, Babachris, a Cozinha and Mezannino.

The food was terrible and tasteless, some of the dishes we returned. The restuarant is located in a very nice hotel and the service good.

Had lunch here during our road trip to Porto. It is a very nice restaurant and very reasonably priced. The Goat was SENSATIONAL and the Peppers were divine. Definitely and place to eat.

We went to HOOL for dinner on our one night in Guimaraes. The food was delicious. It was one of my favorite meals of our trip. The wine we ordered was very good as well. The dining room was quiet and comfortable. Definitely recommend. There...is no parking on site as HOOL is in the medieval town so you have to find a place to park and walk there.More

My parents and I visited Guimarães for the day and found this place via TripAdvisor. It’s a charming little plaza right around the corner from Igreja de Nissan Senhora da Oliveira. The service was more than attentive and I ordered the bacalhau and my parents...got a salad and soup. My dish was pretty aggressively seasoned...not inedible, but a tad too salty—the fish and greens. The potatoes were fine. As with most restaurants, they bring out unordered appetizers that aren’t free once you dive in... in this case, bread, creamy tuna fish, garlic butter and olives. All yummy and I was pleased to see the bread was fresh and not stale like it can be if they keep recycling it from table to table. My parents enjoyed their light lunches, I’d give my fish higher marks if it weren’t for the extra salt. But with the service and the location, I’m still giving it a 4 rating. We would have enjoyed the outdoor plaza longer if it weren’t for 2 couples sitting next to us chain smoking. :/More
