I have visited this restaurant several times, and the quality of the food never fails to impress. It is located in an old manor house in the center of Bragança, and has a suiting atmosphere. It his hard to find game meat with such a delicate preparation and presentation as you can find here. The chestnut soup and the codfish... More

The food is, indeed, very good. The veal was great and the rice with hare was also very good. The chestnut soup and the banana with cheese are a must-have entries. The staff is very friendly, but there was only one person at service that night, so it took a lot of time to get our dishes. I'll would go... More

We came to Braganca for the evening and stopped here for dinner. The place was nice, the food was delicious and the staff were helpful and attentive. I liked the goblets and the decoration of the restaurant. The staff kept checking that everything was ok and helped us with recommendations etc. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking... More

Solar Bragançano is one of the oldest and best restaurants in Bragança. The space is unique and old fashion. The service very kind and old school with linen napkins and towels. Bur the best thing is the food and the wine. Trás-os-Montes is famous for its Alheiras (a kind of sausage) and for the Naco (a piece of meat served... More

Old fashioned restaurant with home made food typical of the zone. Service is nice and the food is ok. But the atraction is not really the food, but the place itself and the atmosphere. Takes you back to the 1930s or so. The house wine was excellent and very cheap. Desserts were also great. Main courses just average I'm afraid.... More

This restaurant doesn't use flour in its cooking, which makes it an ideal choice for parties eating with a coeliac. There was no difficulty in communicating our needs, and my glamorous gluten-free assistant was warned off a salad that contains bread croutons. The salad she had instead, cod with boiled egg, was delicious, as were my chestnut soup, her pheasant,... More

Curious and quirky restaurant with some bizarre but nonetheless pleasant service. Food was excellent. Wine choices were plenty. Very popular with locals and a must visit when in Braganza

I have never been to a restaurant quite like this- an elegant setting with equally elegant elderly lady waiting on us. From the tourist menu you basically choose meat or fish for the main course but the starters and desert are already chosen. For starter we had soup of the day with a kind of garlic bread ( not the... This is a beautiful place in the central square of the historic centre of Braganca. Its situated in an old mansion and serves traditional Northern dishes (eg I had pheasant with chestnuts). Not many tourists go to Braganca, but if they do this is definitely an experience worth exploring.
