We passed this restaurant one morning and the menu and garden looked inviting, so we went that evening and enjoyed the Tourist Menu with a bottle of house white wine for the two of us. My avocado to start, scabbard fish with banana and caramel pudding was lovely and tasty. Madeira wine offered upon entry and a free drink at... More

Right next to our hotel. A great place to eat with a welcome on entrance and complimentary Madeira wine. A good menu with varied choices, We were served promptly and all staff were friendly and helpful explaining the local cuisine. The food was plentiful and delicious. We had steak and salmon with lots of vegetables and potatoes. The salmon portion... More

We walked in the search of restaurant to have our daily dinner, and walk past this restaurant when old man in a suit stopped us offering Madeira wine. Usually we don´t take this kind of method into account, but this was something special, Old men almost without teet smiling to us. And we went in. Here I had my best... More

Superb meals, service and welcome at this nice restaurant. We are indoors as it was a chilly evening in the garden. Swordfish was excellent, and the accompanying vegetables and boiled potatoes were soft, nicely cooked, and buttery! We can't wait to come back!!

We ate here for dinner and my mum ordered off the tourist menu and me and my sister had the steak sizzler.. First we got our jacket potatos which accompany the steak and then the veg came, the steak soon followed. The steak came rare but you can cook it more on the hot stone on which it's served but... Our group ate here four nights out of seven and didn't have a poor meal once. The service was polite, efficient but unobtrusive. All the staff spoke very good English. I only ate the local fish dishes but others in the group had local meat specialities and were very impressed. Good value Portuguese wines too. Would definitely return on another... More
