We got breakfast here since we were staying at Chalet Saudade. The breakfast was good with pastry, rolls, croissant, ham, cheese, egg and excellent large coffees. What made it a great experience was meeting the server, Yuni. He is the absolute best. Not only is he a great and caring server, he is also a baseball player and fan. He... More

I can only recommend this place! The sandwiches and salads all look great and the sandwich with sardines and goat cheese, that I had, was absolutely delicious! Staff is super nice! 😀

I visited this coffee shop with my friends on a holy week vacation, it was our first stop in Sintra. We absolutely loved it. The food was great, so was the place, and the waiters. Recommended 100%

Good place and reasonable prices on the outskirts of Sintra. Worth stopping in if you find yourself in the area.

Went for lunch before our hike up to the castle. Popular with Americans as that's all that seemed to be there. It was decent and close to the train station. We were referred by our concierge service. Service was friendly.

Breakfast is our favourite time to eat. This place was very cosy, offered super largest coffe cups in Portugal and tasty sandwiches. Take special ones :)

Fabulous coffee - lattes come in huge mugs!! But the unmissable aspect of eating here are the pastries. We ordered savoury croissant - ham and cheese; plus Pasteis de Nata; plus Queijadas - miniature Sintra cheesecakes. This is the best place to have the latter delicacy, because it is a former Cheesecake Factory and the back rooms are retained to... More

Great little cafe that we recently stopped at for lunch while in Sintra. Tasty pastries and nice atmosphere. I have to give a big shoutout to our waiter, Yuni. He was super nice and attentive, and I give him two big thumbs up. This is what's up from your New York Orioles fan Yuni, keep icing that pitching shoulder down... More

I LOVE this cafe. Favourite place to have coffee and a quick bite. The staff are fast and friendly, and the food and coffee are great, and it's amazing value. My favourite is the "peasant" sandwich - which is far from peasant like - it's massive, filled with seasron roasted chicken and lots fresh vegetables. Highly recommend stopping by for... More

Where Cafe Saudade now stands, there used to be housed the historical Queijadas da Mathilde cheesecake factory from 1888 to 1974.These queijadas de Sintra (cheesecakes) were a favorite of King Ferdinand II (who restored the Pena Palace). During the 3rd quarter of the 19th century, the king gave the factory founder a stamp marked Mathilde, to brand the cheesecakes bound for the royal family. The Cafe Saudade was restored and preserved over a year long renovation in 2008 and opened in the summer of 2009. Recycled and regional materials and resources were used to create an environment that authentic. We pride ourselves for this and and for the fact that our team offers the best service they can.The spaces of the old cheesecake factory are today a cultural reference in Sintra's recent historical background. Its preservation allows us a glimpse into the ancient manufacturing process of the typical queijada de Sintra.Wander through the "Saudade Labyrinth" and fall in love with Sintra. Visit our Art Gallery and explore the various rooms with pieces of furniture that we restored with love and care, and in which we have handcrafts for sale. We host literary gatherings, jazz and fado concerts and other cultural activities.
