Really nice venue. It tries to be a 5 star restaurant but falls well short. They had no more cod fish and no more olives. This is not acceptable to me in Portugal! The lamb shank I had was tough and they replaced it with...no questions at all. However I ended up eating alone as my wife had finished her meal already. But the octopus was outstanding! The waiter was very nice and apologetic for the problems in the kitchen. The prices are up there so I expected much more than was delivered. It’s too bad as it could and should be much better.More

This restaurant advertises a lunch special for €15. We told the waiter we wanted the lunch special that was advertised, however, when we got our bill it was more than double!! He then sent his colleague who said that we probably don’t speak Portuguese but...there’s an exception very small on the sign. Terrible experience and shame on that waiter for his lies!!!More

Good afternoon, We are really sorry to inform you but as the waiters told you yesterday, the advertising is written in Portuguese "Monday to Friday", because you came at a saturday, unfortunately we could not do the special price with the special main courses that...More

What more can I say than having the pleasure to recommend this to all my closest friends and family! Really nice place for families, couples or even if you’re alone. I went with my two kids and husband, I must confessed that I loved the...decoration. Tasty food and finest Portuguese wine not forgetting the professionalism of the waiters, such nice gals! The waiter told us about the restaurant history and we were able to keep a good conversation thanks to her very good English. We are definitely are coming back!More

Delicious food for a good price. This restaurant is located in the old town, not on the main street. So give this restaurant a change if you want good and quiet diner instead of going to a regular tourist trap in the main street.

We had a very enjoyable experience in this restaurant that is tucked away down a small side laneway. The décor is more elegant than others we experienced in Obidos, and service and food matched this. All our food was very good, the marinade in the...Ceviche for entree was enjoyable for its difference having had more of a sweet flavour then usual, but the fish was a bit tough. However, the fish for both main courses was cooked just right and we enjoyed sharing a tart for desert. Overall an above average (between average and very good) would be appropriate for the food, but the ambience and service pushed our rating up to very good.More

We enjoyed two dinners here. I particularly adored one dish with sea bass and served on a bed with Green asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower, a truly delicious combination. There was one regional dish we simply did not understand. I think they explained that they...soaked bread with some broth. We had the impression there was shrimp in the dish garnished with more shrimp. Our friend never tasted any shrimp in the bread mixture and just did not eat the dish. Other than that, we liked all the choices. The servers were very helpful. A note-i believe if you come from outside the hotel you can walk down an incline. However, this hotel and restaurant are not at all geared to handicapped people. One has to walk down stairs to the restaurant and once there back up a few stairs to the toilet.More

Our experience at Comendador Silva would appear to have been a better one than recent reviewers. Everything on the menu was available and four other couples dined the Saturday evening in mid-May we did. We were greeted warmly and service was most attentive throughout the...meal (and our waiter was most helpful when I spilled a little bit of red wine on my shirt, bringing a homemade remedy to avoid staining - and it worked!). The food was quite good but fell short of a 5 star rating - the shrimp and pork pastries were nice and crispy and a good way to start the meal, the vegetable soup a touch on the bland side and both the lamb shank and cod entrees slightly overcooked. The food was still enjoyable. The dining room is simply decorated but comfortable and there's a large outdoor terrace that is used in warmer weather. The wine list is extensive and prices are very fair.More

Our hotel recommended this place. But they must have a commission organized with it. The place looks like it is about to shut down. Bad menu and dirty looking. Much better places in the surrounding area

It would seem that this restaurant was a good place in the past but it’s now a place to skip. We arrived at the restaurant just after eight on a a Sunday evening. It turned out that a lot of dishes were not available. (Others...seem to have had a similar experience...). In the end, we chose a fish soup. It was soup from a packet with a few bits of tasteless fish. The only positive thing is that it was hot. We then ordered sea bass and a pork dish. The fish was OK although it was definitely not sea bass. The vegetables were some crap from a frozen bag and covered with some sort of sauce which was mostly cornflour and coriander. Ugh... The pork dish was even worse and cornflour was again the star! Service was OK but we were not offered bread or anything to start - probably ran out... In short give this restaurant a miss. Can’t understand howMichelin gave them a mention. It goes to show that they don’t keep up to date.More

We was bere for dinner, but i didn’t like. The atmosphere was nice and quite, the food was nice, tagliatelle with vegetables but the wine was poor. It was a clean restaurant but I don t recommend it. When I received the menu the waitress...tell me for start what food she didn’t have. It is a fine dinning restaurant, I don t accept this kind of presentation.More
