Beautiful restaurant with polite, attentive staff and an amazing view of Lisbon. We went to our wedding anniversary and we earned a sparkling “noble air” courtesy of Via Graça, in addition to we put on an amazing table. The couver has a hot bread and a delicious goat butter with salt flower and salsa powder at 5,5€ per person. At the entrance we ordered the “Cheijo da Laurete gratinado, olive oil, oregans and toasts” which was delicious and as the main one a “Cordeiro de forno, spinach and baked potatoes” and the “Our Bacalhau à Brás”, the best we ate in Portugal. My wife asked, to eat with the cod, a white wine “2023 Dona Maria Reserva ‘Amantis’”and said to be “light in measure, is not fruitful and neither dried, is between the medium term, delicious and great to accompany a fish and the entries that are lighter.” The red wine from the same vineyard is also very good. Desserts do not diminish the standard of the place, because they are delicious. The restaurant is not cheap, but worth the experience on special dates.

We had spent the morning sightseeing in Lisbon and decided to have lunch. We must have been in the only part of the city where it's a little difficult to find a reasonable place to eat. As it was we found Via Graca. It's fair to say that as soon as we went in we said to ourselves that the restaurant was rather more upmarket than we would normally choose for a quick lunch. However, we decided to stay. The restaurant has wonderful views across Lisbon which we were admiring whether menu arrived. Our initial problem is that my companion is a vegan and , perhaps unsurprisingly, there was not a dish which complied with her specification. However, the kitchen was able to prepare something which she enjoyed. I selected the cheese gratin partly because I like cheese but also in an effort to exercise some degree of cost control. We each had a glass of red wine. Don't ask me which vintage - my vegan companion fancies herself as a wine buff. Let me be a little sensible. This is clearly an upper end destination offering an original and intriguing menu of choices, quiet but professional service and being set in a wonderful position. It would I believe prove to be perfect for a leisurely dinner one evening. We enjoyed our lunch. Nevertheless, as I wrote at the start of this review, we originally only really wanted a quick lunch. Ours ended up at 90€. But I'd still like to go back for that dinner at some point.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here to celebrate our 30th wedding Anniversary and when I booked I requested a table with a view which was stunning. On arrival, Pamella our waitress brought us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to celebrate and was extremely attentive and took the time to explain the dishes to us and also make recommendations. My husband had the Scallop tartar and I had the traditional Portuguese bacalhau for starters which were delicious. For our mains he ordered the Iberian pork and I had the cod with rice, they sound simple but were amazing. We both managed the chocolate pie for dessert with a glass of Ginginha. The whole experience made our Anniversary dinner truly memorable together with an amazing view.

My guests were offered butter to spread on the bread as an appetizer while I was not offered it. I then asked for it but it never arrived. My dish was good while the fish ordered by my wife, once the skin was removed, was undercooked with half pink and half white meat. The waiter collected the dish and brought it back five minutes later with the cooking completed. Given the price paid, I would say that I am absolutely not satisfied.

The view is amazing, but that was the only positive part of our experience. We visited for lunch and were very disappointed in the quality of the food and service, especially given the price. Two of the dishes were very salty and the meat and vegetables were overcooked. Bottom line- not worth going to for the view.

Intimate and exquisite environment. Super friendly and efficient service. We ate the classics of the restaurant: bacon à Brás and baked lamb, which were spectacular! For dessert we ate the sericaia with peach ice cream ball, which was amazing. The panoramic view is beautiful. The prices are slightly above average (about 80€/person), but it is an investment that is very worth it, as the experience is great!

The food was excellent but the service was substandard. We dressed appropriately for a nice restaurant, made a reservation a day in advance and arrived on time. As we dine early we were the first to be seated and were given the worst table in the restaurant while every other table was vacant. We asked for another table and we’re told, “They are reserved.” We were not asked about having a drink first, which is standard in a good restaurant, just handed a menu. We had to ask for a wine list and drinks menu. We ordered drinks and the waiter wanted to take our dinner order at the same time. We explained we wanted to enjoy our drinks first. Dinner always comes too soon under those circumstances no matter what they say so we don’t order early. We ordered an appetizer and the waiter again wanted to take our dinner order. While we tried to enjoy our drinks and appetizer we were approached at least four more times by waiters! At one point the hostess even told us we had a limit on the time we might hold the table! It was more than sufficient time but the vulgar treatment by those people was too much. I wouldn’t return and I don’t recommend the place.

I made a reservation via the website for two people by mistake since we were 5 people. I went in person to talk about the mistake and they told me that they were booked , but they could get us all in if we promised to eat in less than two hours. I accepted and went back to my place to get my family. We were on our way there (2 minutes from the time of the reservation) when I received a call from the restaurant informing me that they could not longer accommodate the five of us. The person at the front desk also informed me that the website reservation system is not accurate. Very disappointing.

Thank you for your comment. We are sorry that your experience was not positive, but we would like to clarify some points. Highlight that all our customers are extremely important to us. When you came to our restaurant, your table for two was ready. He informed us that he had not been able to make a reservation for 5 people on our website, and therefore he made it for 2, but that his group would be 5 people. Our reservation system did not accept a reservation for 5 people, because our restaurant did not really have availability. Still, we told him that we could have the 5 people as long as the table was free at 9pm. Once we had a reservation made correctly for that table. The lady thanked us and told us that she was going outside the restaurant to call the other guests, and that it would take 2 minutes. After 1 hour, he did not return to the restaurant, and we called him to inform him that after that time we would not be able to receive his group, as we would not be able to provide an adequate service in the time until the table was booked. I reinforce that we made ourselves available to receive your group of 5 people, even though we had a reservation for 2 people, but the lady left the restaurant to call her guests who would be at the door, and it took more than 1 hour to return. Even so, we presented her with several alternatives, informing her that we would have a table available at another time, but the lady hung up the phone without answering us. We tried to call back, but he didn't pick up. We would like to reinforce that we are happy to welcome you to our restaurant, for a gastronomic experience worthy of Via Graça. We are available to clarify this situation. If you wish, you can contact us directly for reservas@vgraca.pt We hope to continue to have your trust. Thank you!

Beautiful restaurant with exceptional views. Quiet and chic atmosphere, very good service. On the food side, the menu changes seasonally (I think) and we did not have access to what we had seen in reviews and photos online.

100% recommended! If you are in Lisbon, you have to try this restaurant. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they made it so special for us. We had the most breathtaking views, were welcomed with champagne and the food was spectacular, particularly the rice (kind of risotto) and grilled fish. The ambience was perfect too. Great background music and a relaxing environment. I will definitely come back!

The view of the city is panoramic, given the sweeping expanse of windows. We dined at sunset and the view of the city below as the lights came on was spectacular. Further, the service was spectacular and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful. The wine he helped us choose went perfectly with our meals. Our meals themselves were extremely good -- I've never had a (very generously sized) piece of pork in my life. All in all, we had a perfect experience.

What an experience! I admit I went to Via Graça with a good expectation, but that was completely overcome. The restaurant really delivered far more than I expected. The environment is wonderful and the view is amazing, but it is the excellent service and incredible gastronomy that really enchant. We were welcomed with a glass of spumant offered by the establishment and we counted on the attention of Beatriz who guided us in all requests, from entries to desserts. All perfect!

We were recommended this restaurant for dinner by our hotel and it was an inspired one. The taxi ride there took us through interesting narrow streets and then we caught the amazing views from the restaurant over the city and castle. The service was very professional and friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The cod I had and the sea bass my wife had were both excellent and perfectly cooked. The wine list had some excellent Portuguese wines. A delightful evening in Lisbon.

Went there for our anniversary. The food tasted fine but you're getting low value for your money. I had the lobster dish with rice but it was more of a rice dish with a little lobster. The staff didn't really seem to care if you have a good time. When we arrived the place was almost empty but the still placed us right next to a family with two small loud kids (although they tried to be respectful and keep them quiet). It wasn't the romantic anniversary dinner we were hoping for.

Graça & São Vicente
You can be thankful that most common travel guides don't mention Graça and São Vicente that often. Part of Lisbon's historic center and "Old Town", they feel like independent villages in the capital's center, and more untouched than Alfama. Amazing views, restaurants and parks, as well as important monuments like the S. Vicente Church and the National Pantheon, make this a spectacular option for those looking for a more tranquil walk-around in the center of Lisbon. Graça has been the choice of many younger people over the past years, both nationals and expats, given the cozy feeling of the neighborhood and its hidden secrets.
