What can I say about this dinning experience. The word "Romantic" comes to mind. The restaurant is located in an old convent with a nice center cloister where the tables are located. It's dinning al fresco . The menu is traditional Portuguese with a modern...More

The location is very beautiful. Some of the waiters are very friendly, welcoming and professional. The owner is unfriendly and impolite: at the first interruption for asking a question about the menu his reaction was so annoyed we thought questions were not tolerated. The 'feeling'...More

Terribly expensive, Travessa lost completely all the charm and quality it used to have. Once a small bistro lost in the middle of a neighborhood lost in time it is now a symbol of the new Madragoa. A gentrified, expensive, uncharacteristic place. Food used to...More

We were really looking forward to this and had booked a table way in advance. The location was amazing, a beautiful building. The staff were also very attentive and polite. The only issue is the food and the price. I don't mind paying a lot...More

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at this restaurant and were both very impressed. The setting in a former convent is really special and it's decorated in a unique, quirky style which I loved. I recommend asking to be sat in...More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant prior to our arrival for the Friday night. On arrival with a taxi it did not look like the right place at first. Narrow cobbled streets beautiful but could not see the restaurant and then there it was. A quirky...More

Incredible meal...all 8 courses! This former convent has a fantastic atmosphere... we ate in a courtyard so it was outside but warm and friendly. Loved it!

We had a very mixed visit to A Travessa. A party of 6 work friends went for dinner. We were happy to get a good table at short notice. The starters are brought to the table without ordering and were lovely. Although we seemed to...More

It,s a great restaurant and would be a romantic spot to propose but I think Casa da Comida is even more romantic and the food and service there are also superb!

The above is quite correct and indeed if you are selecting wines as well as food then it can get expensive. However, in the restaurant's defence, it is Lisbon and comparative to certain other top range venues for food they... More
