Found Xapuri on trip advisor. Bit of a walk, but worth every step. 4 sharing dishes and a couple of puddings. Don't miss the mushroom focaccia, the oxtail, or the pineapple creme brûlée.

We found this restaurant by chance and were greeted warmly by the waitress. The service was impeccable, as was the food. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgable (with regards to the menu and the wine list) and very professional. We ordered 8 dishes between the 4 of us, and we loved every single one. We could not fault any of them.... More

Lisbon food generally blew us away, and this place was one of the top experiences. We stumbled across it, and loved the decor and the fact that you have to knock on the door to get in. Our waitress was so calm and helpful - she helped us feel totally chilled out. We had 7 little platters between 4 of... More

This restaurant suggests 2-3 sharing dishes per person. Everything was super fresh. Highlights included the polenta and Gorgonzola, the salmon tartare and the pork cheeks in a rich gravy. The space is super cool as well with very friendly staff.

The restaurant itself is a bit quirky which adds to the interest. Knock on the door to get in. Mixed tables and chairs in a high vaulted room. The tables were reasonably spacious that allowed privacy. The menu is split into four groups of six dishes and they recommend choose four dishes to share. We had aubergine tartare, interesting and... Amazing food quality, variety and flavours. One of the best meals we had lately, this place made me wish there was a "6th" stat on trip advisor. We now have a good reason to come back to Lisbon. Suggest to chose a variety of starters and mains and share, so much to try. The service was also very good.

I visited Xapuri two years ago and decided it deserved another visit. I took new friends and I must say it exceeded expectations yet again. Wonderful staff, amazing food, delectable wine, and the presentation once again superb. It is a hidden gem, I highly encourage you to go!! (Needs a new door - they lock the door to prevent the... Had a four-course meal to share among two of us and it was great! We got the soup, octopus, salmon and beef, I personally love the beef which was tender and well braised. The service was excellent.

Great food at a reasonable price. We loved everything we tried and wished we had been hungrier when we arrived. Everything was freshly made and tasted great. Would definitely recommend!

Description
Xapuri, It is a place with a welcoming and relaxed decor where the line is a "brand" of recovery and recycling of various parts, from the furniture to the wall intervention with doors in a vaulted interior of the fifteenth century. Specialties from Here and There ... A mixture of flavors and cultures, a menu rich and differentiated. We propose therefore a range of tastes/flavors of an exquisite journey through the various horizons of contemporary cuisine. We are open to the public six days a week for dinner. Good appetite !!

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
