My wife and me caught this place with a bit of scepticism due to the English and French menu make it looked to be one of dozens of touristic restaurant in Lisbon..... such a big mistake: we have never been so happy to have been wrong! REVIRAVOLTA is the kind of place where most of Portuguese would spend an evening... More

This place is far from pretentious and still they serve amazing fresh fish. The service is pretty good, the waiter took the time to explain the dishes both in portuguese and english. Prices can't get better for the portions they serve. Totally recommended for a casual meal!

The place is filled with locals which is why I thought the place would be good for diner. This turned out to be wrong: the service was unpleasant. And more importantly the food was cold. Avoid.

Small restaurant with a big heart. The food and service is excellent. The waiter was fun and pleasant. Menu changes every day so you have different choices of the great portuguese gastronomy. Will recommend and will go back next time I visit Lisbon.

Warm atmosphere, traditional restaurant. We had dinner with friends. Mixture of grilled fishes was average, but cod fish with fries was very nice. We had house wine which was so delicious. It is small place, max 30 peoples. But they say you don't need pre reservation. I like this place

This is your typical small neighborhood restaurant: a few tables (serving around 20 people in total), nothing fancy at all, but you will most probably leave satisfied. They have a few specials of the day (four fish, four meat, as is usual in Portuguese restaurants), and then quite a few more options "à la carte", which might take a little... More

This is A very tiny little restaurant where locals come to watch tv or sports or discuss about politics. The food is good (i had the homemade bacalhau reviravolta). The prizes are average. Not as heigh as tourists restaurants but higher than normal local ones.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
