As like many Brits, we came by Moma via Rick Steins tv series & we weren't disappointed. The menu is simple, fish based & very reasonably priced. We had the chilli prawns & spaghetti as a starter, a touch more chilli wouldn't have gone amiss, but this is being picky. I had the fried boiled eggs, more out of curiosity... More

This restaurant stands out from the rest in the area. Wonderful Staff, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, great atmosphere. Although busy, a visit here is a must. Prices were also very good.

We would recommend any one visiting Lisbon to sample the food here. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our dining experience all the better. The food was delicious I had a Chicken Caesar to start with which was the best I've tasted and then the veal for mains again delicious. We had a lovely night here and returned... More

Suggested by Rick Stein who had sardines there, we dropped in for a light lunch hoping for sardines ourselves, but were told that you can’t get fresh sardines until June! Any we got now would be frozen. Though disappointing this was useful information and we settled for prawns in garlic mayonnaise which were delicious, with a side salad and bread... More

Unobtrusive restaurant from outside with great seafood in the middle of touristy street. We decided to eat here based on the trip advisor reviews. Moma is located in a very touristy street with one restaurant next to the other. We got there at 7 pm and we were the second guests. By 7:30 pm the place was full and they... More

We didn't realise the Rick Stein connection when we chose to go, there were good reviews in our guidebook. There are a couple of bad reviews on here; I can only say we had a wonderful evening, cared for brilliantly by the owner and his staff. This is a proper restaurant, not one of the many with menu hawkers, Moma... More

We looked this place out because it was featured on a TV programme with Rick Stein. We walked by at 5.30 to make reservation, but although the notice on the door said open 12 until 12, there was no sign of life. We went back at 7.15 and managed to get the only table left, which was outside. Service was... More

Like many others, we had based a visit to this restaurant following a Rick Stein TV show! We hadn't booked so not surprised when we had to take a table outside, it was chilly so we were offered a blanket, what a great touch, except it took 45 minutes and two reminders to arrive! The service was friendly but very... More

Waited 90 minutes for food. Nothing. Completely forgot about us. Absolutely useless. How difficult is it? The ones with plates of food are the ones you've served. The ones with empty plates, they've also been served. The ones waiting an hour and a half with a small bowl of olive stones in front of them.......Guess what? They're patiently awaiting their... I stumbled across this place on trip advisor, whilst trying to find a suitable venue to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my birthday, while we were in Lisbon. Once you've run the gauntlet passed the other restaurants and touts, Moma will not disappoint. Cosy restaurant. Fabulous and attentive service. The owner is a fantastic front of house. Delicious... Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
