6 of us had dinner & the general consensus was the quality of the food was very good , but each dish lacked flavour. I had the asian tuna & port neck, the latter a tender & juicy cut, spoilt by a bland sauce. My...More

The tuna entrance was awsome. The dish was good. The service was great from the guys, but the two girls were in a very bad day, in my opinion. I would rate 5 if the main dish options were better. I had to eat a...More

This restaurant was suggested to us by friends who had a great experience. Unfortunately that's where it ended for us! We felt the food was ordinary with little imagination. We booked for 7.30 and finished a 3 course meal with wine by 8.30! No time...More

Celebrity chef; Chef José Avillez restaurant in Porto, it is casual and brings the promise of something simple and yet delicious. Unfortunately that is what it is. Simple but not quite delicious. Portions are small, the flavors are quite bland and ultimately fails to deliver....More

This meal was one of the best on our trip to Portugal. The baked cheese, ham and honey appetizer is to die for. The atmosphere was fun and throughly enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Lisbon.

Great food from this Jose Avillez restaurant served to a trendy crowd. The service was somewhat lacking. Personally I preferred his pizza place a few doors away.

Run by a Michelin Star chef, but simple, unfussy food. My black pig pork was the best pork chop I've ever had, and my wife found her bachlau very tasty, even if we had no idea what the green goo in tbe "exploding olives" were....More

Chef Avillez (a Michelin decorated chef) is apparently a believer in the concept that anything dipped in batter and deep fried tastes better. And who can blame him? Millions of children below the age of 12, and grown men whose wives are out for a...More

Description
Located in Chiado, the Cantinho do Avillez restaurant welcomes you with a natural blend of the traditional and the modern. Quality is the priority with Chef Jose Avillez, and so nothing is left to chance. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad. The menu offers a wide choice of appetizers, "pregos" (steak sandwiches), entrees, main dishes and desserts, so that the gastronomic experience can be different at each visit. The service, which is pleasant and informal, contributes to the cheerful and relaxed climate.
