The cakes, pastries, snacks & coffees are all excellent here in Sao Nicolau. They have a very good selection & many choices. The staff are really efficient & they'd need to be as it gets very busy, but they keep up & nobody was kept waiting - so very well done to them! It's in a very good location so... More

Been here twice during my visit to Lisbon. Natas are deeply filled with custard and warm but not too hot to take a huge bite. Excellent and attentive service.

Wide ranging selection on the menu. We called here for our first lunch in Lisbon, we did fall into the tourist trap and could have chosen far better cafes or restaurants but this fitted the bill for what we needed. Quite expensive but that's because its touristy- this was the most I paid for a salad in 10 days in... More

Yes, this is a tourist-oriented restaurant with the waiters standing at the ready with a sales pitch if you slow down at all. However, we were looking for an easy, quick place to eat after 12 hours of travelling to get to Lisbon. Ordered the Seafood Paella and the Shrimp Paella and both were better than we expected. We must... More

This busy cafe is popular with tourists outside, and local inside - and the prices reflect this! We had coffee and a portion of chips - which was fine, and not expensive. Service was quite good too!

Excellent food. The Best service. And all well under any budget. But, remember, three different prices: Inside-standing. In-side seating. Out-side!

In Lisbon over the NYE period we have eaten in lots of places. This was out final meal and the food and service was great. I had the octopus (as did most other dinners we could see). Don't understand the negative reviews service was good.

The staff are not honest in this restaurant. We paid the bill at the same time with the table next to us, and they serve the other table fast and we waited for about 15 mins for the change. And finally we found out that we should get 1.5 euros change, but actually we only got 60c. The food is... More

Very bad place. I have been to so many places and never had such a baf pasta. It was so watery that one moment I felt I was drinking Japanese noodle soup. We also ordered croquettas and they were frozen inside !!!! The waitor was asking us for a tip? Come on.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
