I came upon this nice little restaurant one of our first nights in Lisbon. We were having trouble with the internet at our rental and needed to get something to eat before everything was closed. They are an Indian and Italian restaurant. We ate Indian food there two nights. I have Aloo Mutter Gobi and my wife had Chicken Tikka... More

During our recent visit to Lisbon we had dinner at Gandhi Palace. As we entered the restaurant we got concerned as there was only one couple having dinner and the rest was empty. We must be early eaters, and as the evening progressed more diners showed up. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. However, the waiter was... More

We only had the indian menu and it was divine. The chef special was the best indian dish I ever had - eternal praises to the chef. The service was also very good. The italian deserts we had paled in comparison (could not recommend).

When in Lisbon, go for a curry. We found this place in central Lisbon on the flat. You can eat Italian or Indian as they have two separate menus. We went for an Indian and the range is massive. The food was tasty and came in large portions. And to cap it all, you won't break the bank either!

Our last night in Lisbon and we were looking for a nice curry, we weren't disappointed. The Butter Chicken was great and the Chefs Special Chicken was equally great. All served up by very cheery waiters. Don't be put off by the fact that this place also does Italian food, it's all about the Indian food so you don't even... More

I have been in Europe for a week, and wanted to eat something asian. I found this place with favourable reviews, and tried their buttered checkin and naan bread. It was good and almost comparable to Indian restaurants I have tried in Singapore. They also serve Italian food.

The restaurant had good food and numerous vegetarian options. Service was extremely good. We tried the aloo chaat, paneer and roti. We enjoyed the food. It was not too heavy!

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
