You can rest and enjoy a nice meal in this place. It's calm and atractive. I always go there for tea.

Tried to eat here and name was put on a waiting list even though there were free tables, told to come back in half an hour. When we went back we were told that there were still no tables available. Had sat and watched people being taken even though they were not on the list and all seemed to be... More

We ate here after visiting the Monastery and Museum. The menu is presented on a easel, and is a mix of Italian and Japanese. The sushi seemed a bit expensive, though we weren't sure how it compared to other local restaurants. We instead ordered a pizza and fettuccine which were both tasty; the pizza was a bit large for one... More

We got the tram to Belem to check out the cloisters, then some modern art at Berardo over the street. We then strolled across the court yard at the back of the gallery and stumbled into this Café. It's not exactly well signed. To our surprize we found they had a wonderful terrace with great views over looking the river.... More

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belem
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
