Looking to have dinner we wondered up the main tourist drag and were attracted by the seafood display in the window. Since you can't read the menu while walking by, we stopped and of course within seconds the "try and convince you to enter" starts showing you their best bits on the menu. Ronny was the young mans name, he... More

Okay, during our travels, we had some really bad experiences at some of the restaurants in Lisbon. The food was not the greatest. However, the night we dined at Concha D'Ouro, we were extremely happy with the quality of the food as well as the service provided by the staff. The staff are wonderful and nice, and the seafood was... More

From the street it looks great, but they are specialized for careless tourist. The menu is under avarage, kitchen is forgottable. The fishsoup smells and tastes like a vegetables soup. They drop some seafood in it. They show You the better lobster and then You get the cheaper one, but in the bill You can find the more expensive again.... More

A window full of fresh seafoods attracted our attentions and prices on menu seemed reasonable. A family of 7 with mixture of adults and children and so much on the menu to try. We went a bit overboard with our order but our waiter Ronny did tell us we had ordered too much and to take a dish off but... More

Was looking for a place for dinner, & this one seemed pretty good, so figured I would give it a try. I ordered a green wine to start, they actually served me a cheap white wine tinted green! I also ordered the rice with prawns & monkfish, which they recommended. There was rice, & there were prawns, but the fish... More

Quite expensive so would recommend a dish to share. We opted for the grilled octopus and shrimp skewer and were not disappointed. Service was a bit hit and miss as the locals recieved priority treatment but ll in all was a very nice meal, in nice surroundings. No real complaints.

Too much chiting with tourist! 1- They bring some starter finger food and tell you " its free of charge", suprised for lot free of charge quantities, you eat, late they will say" you dont like, dont eat, ready done, pay! " , take care if they come with the words free. 2- They show you fresh , alive seafood,... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
