I went to try the famous lobster curry. It was good and the meat came out of the shell easily. Personally, I prefer it natural. It was worth the experience for the difference, but it's not surprising and I wouldn't repeat it.
The basmati rice served was overcooked.
The restaurant is friendly and welcoming, but on a summer day, opting to have the window open instead of the air conditioning is not the best decision for those who want to comfortably enjoy a meal in the fresh air and not sweat.
Friendly staff, but the attention could be improved. The prices are actually very cheap.

Having been a regular here for years, I admit to being very disappointed during my last visit. The place has lost its splendor, catastrophic and unpleasant room service, restaurant atmosphere = Zero, and cuisine at half mast :/

Terrible service. The waiter was extremely confused with only 4 tables to take care of. I asked for shrimp curry and he brought me mushroom curry. My husband asked for polvo similar to polvo à lagareiro and he was presented with fried polvo which, by the way, was supposed to go to a different table! Once our waiter got the right entree, the food at least was amazing although my curry could use a little more salt.

I was in the Tasca with a group of friends. It was uncomplicated to make a reservation and I'd advise you to do one, as it gets crowded easily. The atmosphere was great, starting with the cool decoration of the walls (in case there's nothing to talk about you can always look at pictures and comment them), other guests were joyful and the service was perfect. Since we were in doubt about what to order and wanted to know how a dish is served, the chef brought us a bit of the dish to try and see for ourselves. We ended up ordering it (shrimps+beans soup), it took a bit until it was served (but they also warned us) and once it was there it was delicious! I also liked the tiramisu in the end.
If you are looking for a romantic place, this is not a good choice, but if you are with friends or don't mind a loud environment, go for it, you will not regret it!!

Very nice and cosy restaurant with good food and good service . Been there for my third visit and still the same quality from both kitchen and waiter . Truly recommend for a nice a tasty meal .

After a few years, the return to the Tasca da Galega was a mixture of emotions. I found a mystic space, with history and many stories, where I spent a very pleasant evening. The menu is varied, the food a delight and have an excellent service. It is certainly my choice of restaurant in Barreiro. I loved it!
