What a gem! Everything was perfect from the ambiance, the service, the fresh authentic Portuguese grilled fish. This restaurant offered one of our best food experiences during our two week stay. The locals frequent this place and they know what is good. Make sure to add this restaurant to your plans.

What a pleasant surprise this space in Barreiro. Good welcome, good service, efficient service, prices adjusted to quality and best of all: desserts with the largest portion I've ever seen in my entire life and absolutely delicious. Excellent food and services. Traditional portuguese cuisine. High quality fresh fish and meat dishes. Need reservation or first come, first served list. Convenient location, nice installations, and facilities. Staff are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend it.

This is my favorite restaurant in Portugal! The food is sooooo good ! The staff is really friendly and nice! I highly recommend this Restaurant because this is where Portuguese people have food and it’s a real INSIDER TIPP!!!! ❤️

On TripAdvisor this restaurant has good notes, so we decided to go. First we had to queue, which was already good sign. Food was fresh and very good. Unfortunately not excellent as we expected.

Amazing meal

We got to the restaurant about 7.30 and easily got a table. The service was exceptional, the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. We were given the only English menu but the waiting staff came and talked through what they had. We were four persons and had three mains, and still had food left over. We had a calamari, a cuttlefish and a veal. All were cooked perfectly and came with salads and boiled potatoes and the veal came with chips, some green veg a bit like shredded kale and rice with black bean sauce. We added creamed spinach which was lovely too. We asked for a bottle of dry white wine and were brought a bottle of Quinto Ventizeli Blend which was fantastic. When the bill came it had only cost 13 euros, that’s extremely reasonable. With water and one Sweet the whole bill was only €57,25 Highly recommend.

Consistently Good

I've been there now several times. The food is especially good, most notably the picanha and black beans. The house wine choices are also consistently fine. It's a nice interior as well, and we prefer sitting in the room that is back and to the right, where the wine racks are. Drawback, if there is one, would have to be the parking. It's in back of the restaurant and is often full, so we have to park some distance down the street. But very good restaurant -- I rate it about even or a point higher than Mar da Palha a few miles away in Moita.

A good choice

Visiting Barreiro for the first time in my life, I end up eating in O Grelhador Mor, after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. The restaurant is very nice. Good ambiance, good service, good food. Who could ask for more? It was a good choice indeed.

Always on the money

Every single time i go there i'm never dissapointed, you should mark in advance because on the weekends its very difficult to get a table, every plate from fresh fish to meat is very well cooked and its and open kitchen. Excelent for group dinners, therefore sometimes its noise, but its always that familar ambient that leaves you conffortable.
