This is a small, family, neighborhood place that offers 7.50E lunch specials, which all seem to be Portuguese specialties. We had our first meal in Portugal here. It was a very short walk from our hotel and a short walk to the Ponte Santa Clara Bridge. I went with an octopus stew and my wife had the tripe stew special.... More

This is a very plain place where we had a delicious late lunch. This was recommended by Rick Steves and was well worth the search. This is a family run place and the service was very good. It was an easy walk to Old Town.

This is a cafe that, to be honest, looks like it would serve truck-stop quality food, but don't be fooled. Although the prices were the best we found on our trip, the food was actually quite exceptional! It's not a place for a fancy, romantic dinner, what with the bright lighting and TV on sports, but it is a good... More

We, too, ate here based on a recommendation in Rick Steves. The goat stew was good, but nothing memorable. The place is simple and basic, as is the food. The furnishings and table setting is all very simple and basic. Decent and cheap, for sure. We were the only people eating there on a Monday evening in late June between... More

Bizarro is tiny the food is average quality the price is cheap. It is a clean family owned place . You can enjoy talking to the owners and customers while you eat you food. I had a good dish of fish.

We recently spent 3 nights in Coimbra. The restaurant we original wanted to try was closed that evening and we wandered by Bizarro on a nearby side street. The goat and veal dishes were great. The waiter was very helpful and the service was good. This is a small place that felt vey local. The wine was excellent.

We ate here on the recommendation in the Rick Steve's guidebook for lunch. The meal was just ok. Not bad but not memorable. The cooking was on the simple side. The space itself feels a bit dirty. The staff was friendly and the prices are very low. Nothing special here.

Nice choice for lunch if you are in the neighborhood, Bizarro serves hearty portions of local Portugese favorites. The goat stew was good, but was more of a braised meat dish than a typical stew I was expecting. My friend´s veal steak with mushroom sauce was fine as well. The service and dining space was fine.

Bizarro is a very small restuarant, with a friendly accomodating staff. (They fed me well and gluten free.) We had a very nice lunch and enjoyed observing all the local people who filled several of the small tables. I had sardines whiich were nicely prepared and hot and a soup that was delcious on a rather cold rainy day.
